Plot: Mary (Cara Buono) has her eyes wide open in the middle of the night, unable to fall asleep as she turns around and around in the bed. She gets up as lightning strikes yet again and goes to the living room, where she sits on the couch and prays with her rosary for it to be all over and for Gerald and Charles to come back home. She finds out that Sarah (Odeya Rush) can’t sleep too when she sees her night light on and Judy (Jodelle Ferland) can’t sleep too. They are talking and throwing around baby names for Judy’s child, even if they don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl yet. Mary enters their room and she asks them if they are worried about Gerald and Charles, because it sure seems like they aren’t, since they have time to laugh and giggle. Sarah asks her mother why she always has to see the worst in everything and she says she’s just realistic. Mary decides to go sleep with her son, Marco (Owen Vaccaro), who’s peacefully asleep. She curls up on the single bed and closes her eyes as she hopes to find some sleep this time.

When she opens her eyes again, it’s the morning and the sun is shining bright. She goes over t her room and finds out that Gerald and Charles aren’t home yet. She goes back in the kitchen and is surprised to see that everybody else is up. Horace (M. Emmet Walsh) asks for his breakfast now, he’s hungry. She says she doesn’t want to do anything today, not until Gerald and Charles are back. Horace says that for all he knows, Gerald and Charles might have gotten to each other, he’s not really his son after all. Mary asks him to stop with the nonsense and he says the only way he’ll stop talking would be for him to have breakfast. Mary admits that she’s hungry and she starts cooking breakfast. As Judy and Sarah play cards in the living room with Marco, they notice the mailman putting something in their letter box. Marco runs outside to get it and he thanks the mailman. He finds a letter with something written on it: Judy. It’s written with an old pen and it intrigues everyone in the house. Horace says the last time he saw people so afraid of something so small was when he was deployed and his friends thought they had a bomb in their hands. They finally open the envelope after a lot of deliberation and they find a DVD inside. They have no idea what it is and they try to find something that would fit the hole in the DVD, but they come up short. Judy says she’ll keep it until they find something, but they should go to the store… she’s cut short by Mary who says nobody is allowed outside the house until Gerald is back, end of discussion. Marco says he’ll find something to do with the disk, he’s sure he will. Horace encourages him. Meanwhile, Mary prays Gerald is still alive, somewhere.

Gerald (Brendan Fraser), Charles (Logan Lerman) and Steven (Graham Phillips) appear at the top of Mount Royal in the middle of the night. Steven can’t believe he was able to time travel and he’s all excited about it. Charles doesn’t share the same feeling, wondering how all of this is possible. Gerald, on the other end, doesn’t share the same feelings. He asks them to come over where they can have a nice view of the city. It’s not 1964. They aren’t even in the sixties. Something is happening in town, because all the lights are on and they can hear people chanting, or screaming, they are unsure. They get in Gerald’s car to find out when, exactly, they landed.

As they get closer and closer to the city, they start trying to guess what year they’re in based on people’s clothes and the cars. Gerald says he has never seen such ugly clothes or color combinations in his life. Steven, who knows what happened between 1964 and the 2010’s, starts realising what year they’re really in when he sees billboards and people chanting in the streets. They landed on the night of the 1980 Quebec sovereignty referendum. Steven orders Gerald to stop the car and he tells them that they’re in the 80’s. Gerald looses his cool and he asks how it’s possible. Steven says the lightning strikes must have messed up his calculations, but Gerald doesn’t care about the technicality, he wants to know if he’ll be able to fix this. He says he would need time. He says their goal to go back in time to see Father Logan so he can fix everything won’t work, now that they are in the future. Charles says it’s worth a shot trying. He can still help them in the 2010’s if they plant the idea in his mind now. Gerald restarts the car, but he must realise that it will be impossible for him to drive around the city with everyone in the streets supporting either the yes camp or the no camp. Steven says he could stay in the car and try to work something with the time travelling device while they find Father Logan. They park the car in an alley and Charles and Gerald leave on foot, making their way through the crowded streets.

They eventually enter a quieter street and they wonder what is happening for everyone to be so hostile. They walk in a dark alley where they are pinned to the wall by some thugs. They ask them if they voted yes or no and they said they didn’t vote. They called them liars and judging by Gerald’s serious look, they believe he voted no. They ask him if he knows what happens when they catch someone who voted no and Gerald doesn’t know. They pull out a knife and threaten Charles and Gerald. Gerald says it has been a misunderstanding and they both swear they didn’t vote. They say they know they are loyalists and they try to attack Gerald with the knife. Gerald counters and sends a thug to the ground. In the chaos, Charles is able to break free and he runs away and hides behind a dumpster, while Gerald knocks the two remaining thugs down. Charles then comes out of hiding and Gerald jokes that he now has proof Charles isn’t his son, because his son would never back down from a fight. They both get out of the alley and swear to stay in the streets until they can find Father Logan.

Not far away from here, Chartwell (Clancy Brown), his long white hair in the wind, points at Gerald’s car with his right hand man, Victor (Michael Mando) by his side. They go near the car and they surprise Steven. Victor takes a gun out of his jacket and when he’s about to shoot, two drunk guys enter the alley, aborting their plan. Steven uses the occasion to run away and hide in a dumpster near the car. Chartwell and Victor can’t find him, so they shoot the tires and leave, saying they need to find Logan before they do.

Plot: Father Logan (John De Lancie) is sitting quietly in his monastery, watching the referendum’s results on his television. He shakes his head in disbelief when they show the rioting in the streets and he turns it off. He walks away from the living room and turns on the light in the kitchen. When he’s out of the shot, we see a shadow moving and another one follows. A gun shadow is seen and Victor (Michael Mando) and Chartwell (Clancy Brown) enter the shot. They tiptoe in the kitchen and threaten Father Logan, before taking him away.

Out in the rioting street, Gerald (Brendan Fraser) and Charles (Logan Lerman) try to find out where they are and it’s proven to be more difficult than anticipated. They try to find help, but everybody is so agitated that it’s impossible for them to ask. Charles believes it could be worth asking the homeless man in the corner, but Gerald refuses to, believing homeless people are carriers of disease (a popular belief in Montreal in the sixties) and they can’t afford to get sick right now. Charles asks him if he has a better idea and  when his father doesn’t answer, he gets closer to the man. He says his name is Arthur (Zeljko Ivanek) and they don’t have to worry about him, he’s not sick. They ask him where they can find the monastery and he asks them if they’re looking for Father Logan and they say they do. He says he’ll go with them, he wants to see Father Logan too. They are close to the monastery; he will take them there.

Father Logan is seen getting thrown in the trunk of a car by Victor and he drives off with Chartwell in the passenger’s seat. As they drive off, a man (Peter Stormare) is seen on the sidewalk looking at them. He recognizes Chartwell and he starts walking in the opposite direction. He takes out chalk from his pocket and he draws a circled A with a X on it on the sidewalk in front of the monastery before walking in the other direction.

Charles, Gerald and Arthur arrive at the monastery and knock on the door, but no one answers. Gerald looks through the window, to no avail. Charles and Gerald head out back as Arthur waits out front. Arthur turns around and something catches his attention. He notices the circled A on the sidewalk and he knows what it means. Charles doesn’t believe Logan is gone and he breaks through the back window. He finds the mess in the kitchen an a flock of white hair on the ground. Arthur runs to Gerald out back and he tells him they got to Father Logan before they did. He’s confused as he didn’t tell him people were trying to find Father Logan, other than them. Gerald asks him how he knows and Arthur says it’s long story and Gerald says he has been through some tough shit and he has nothing to lose so he better tell him how he knows about who they are. Arthur asks them if they are Gerald and Charles and they say they are, he asks Gerald to follow him, he needs to take them somewhere, now that they know Logan isn’t here. They aren’t going to get him alone, they’ll need help for that. Charles leaves the monastery and finds Gerald and Arthur waiting in front. Gerald takes out a handgun from his belt and he gives it to Charles, he doesn’t know what’s about to happen. Charles asks what about him and Gerald points at another pistol hidden in his jacket. He smiles and they leave to follow Arthur.

Sitting in the living room reading a book, Mary (Cara Buono) asks her father-in-law, Horace (M. Emmet Walsh) f he thinks they’ll ever get out of here. Horace says he doesn’t know, but he knows one thing, it seems like the kids are liking it better here than in the old times, so he thinks it’s time she starts accepting her fate. Mary agrees and says they’re almost out of money, they’re going to need some and soon. If only Gerald and Charles would come back. Horace says it’s been months now, she needs to forget about them and accept they won’t be coming back. She can’t leave like this any longer. She agrees and the ensuing silence is broken by the sound of a baby crying. Mary says she’ll start looking for a job, that’s what women are doing these days. Horace laughs it off and wishes her luck.

Victor and Chartwell’s car is seen stopping in front of an abandoned warehouse. They take Logan out of the trunk and take him inside. They tie hm to a chair and gag him, so he can’t scream for help. Chartwell is already heating up a stick with the end shaped like the circled A from before as Victor makes sure Logan is tied up tight. They ask him what he told them and says he has no idea what they’re talking about. Victor pleads him not to think they’re idiots and he hits him. The only thing he’ll say after that is that the league will get to them soon enough. The scene ends with Chartwell threatening Logan with the red-hot stick.

Arthur stops in the middle of a dark alley and Arthur says they need to go down in the sewers. Gerald says there’s no way he’s doing that and Arthur says it’s the only way. Gerald asks him to go first and as Arthur heads down, Gerald tells Charles to get his pistol ready, he doesn’t know what’s down there. They do down the sewers and Arthur waits for them with a flashlight. They walk for a while and they open a door. They find themselves in a fully-lit room with a table, chairs and a white board. They are greeted by the man from earlier who drew on the sidewalk, John (Peter Stormare). Gerald threatens them with his pistol and Charles clumsily does the same. John tells them they have nothing to worry about, the League isn’t here to hurt them, they want to help them. Gerald says he doesn’t know about a League and he doesn’t trust them. John says that perhaps they know their friend and Steven (Graham Phillips) comes out of the corner.

Plot: Gerald (Brendan Fraser), Charles (Logan Lerman) and The League members John (Peter Stormare), Arthur (Zeljko Ivanek) and Steven (Graham Phillps) are sitting around the table in their underground hideout. Gerald is all confused, how is Steven involved in this? Steven basically says that everything he’s told them so far is a lie. He has travelled through time before and John here, is his father. They are looking for Chartwell and Victor because they too, know how to travel through time and together, they are planning the Apocalypse, or so they say. Gerald asks them how do they know if they aren’t just fooling everyone and will actually do the Apocalypse and Arthur says that he has been in the future and he has seen what they can do and they must be stopped. Gerald and Charles ask them to repeat everything one more time, because they are confused.

John says that all of them live in the 2010’s, when Gerald and his family was sent. They don’t know when Chartwell and Victor actually lived, but it doesn’t really matter. He says they have learned about them when they were experiencing with time travel and they started interfering with their work. The way they acted and the secrecy around them caught their attention and they decided to follow them in time to see what they were planning to do. Charles interrupts John and he asks them why don’t they just reveal to everyone how to time travel and Steven says it’s too dangerous, people could change the past and it would have devastating effects on the future. Gerald asks how is he involved in this and they say he was close to arresting them in the sixties in his serial arson case and they had to put him away. They initially wanted to send his family in the past, but Steven interfered to send them in the present day so they can use his help to find them again. What they didn’t know was that in the meantime, Victor and Chartwell went back in time around the time they are now, and they killed John and Arthur, meaning they couldn’t be with Steven in the 2010’s. Gerald and Charles look at each other and sighs. They both think Steven, John and Arthur are crazy, but there are too many details in the story for it to be made up and with everything that happened to them in the last few months, well, everything is possible. They now know Chartwell and Victor got Father Logan, which means they got what they wanted. The clock is winding down and they need to make a move now.

Chartwell (Clancy Brown) breathes on his metal stick as Victor (Michael Mando) gags at the odor of burnt skin. Father Logan (John De Lancie) is tied to a chair, his head down. Chartwell says that now that he’s marked with the seal, he can’t escape them. He has no choice but to help them now. Logan says in a low voice that even if he tried, he doesn’t know what they want him to do and Chartwell says he’s planning the apocalypse and Logan will help him kickstart it. The camera zooms out as Chartwell laughs and we see the abandoned warehouse where they hold him hostage.

Back in the modern day, Mary (Cara Buono) looks at the same abandoned warehouse from a window. It barely changed. Rita (Yaya DaCosta) asks her if she likes it so far. Mary is reserved in her answer and she says she thought it was going to be different, but you can say she likes it so far. Rita says it’s good news and it’s time for them to go back to work. She reminds her that the more she sells, the more she gets paid, there’s no time to lose. Mary turns around to reveal that she works at a telemarketing company specialized in selling male enhancement pills. She goes back in her cubicle and remembers Marco (Owen Vaccaro) teaching her how to use a computer. She remembers the steps and calls a random number. Rita’s head appears, looking on from the next cubicle and Mary gives her a thumbs up and Rita smiles back.

The League, with latest additions Gerald and Charles are all standing in the streets and nobody moves. Gerald asks them what the plan is and they say they have no idea. Gerald says they must know more about them than he does and they answer that they choose a different hideout every time and they were counting on his detective skills to find out where they are. Gerald then suggest they search for them at the old church they used in the modern days and Arthur says they’ve used it once, so they aren’t going to use it twice. Gerald says it’s worth a shot.

They all begin searching the old church and find nothing of note. It’s located on top of a hill, with a nice view of the city and as Gerald looks at the rioting streets, he asks John what is going on out there. John says there was a referendum for independence during the day and the “no” has won, so the “Yes” camp is rioting. Gerald has an idea. He asks John if they can go in a certain neighborhood and John says they can. They get everyone back in the van and leave.

They park the van in a busy street and Gerald asks them to trust him and to follow him, no matter where he goes. Arthur has some reservations about that plan, because Gerald won’t give them anymore details, but John says he trusts Gerald. Gerald takes his pistol out and goes in the riots in the streets. He starts shooting at windows and store displays. The crowd disperses, leaving Gerald isolated. The police were called as they arrest Gerald, who refuses to give them his identity. They throw him in the back of a police car and drive away. The League follows him, unsure about what to do next.

Plot: Gerald (Brendan Fraser) sits in the back of the police car, his nose bleeding from resisting his arrest. The policemen in front tell dispatch that they got someone from the riots and it’s more than the usual misdemeanors, so they need to speak to the Captain. She transfers them to the Captain and Gerald recognizes the voice. He smiles and they ask him what he’s smiling for. He says it’s for nothing and he keeps smiling. It evolves into a laugh and both policemen think he’s crazy.

Not far away, John (Peter Stormare) is follows the police car slowly as Steven (Graham Phillips) tells him to keep his distance. Arthur (Zeljko Ivanek) is already thinking the worst and Charles (Logan Lerman) urges him to keep his cool. If he has learned one thing from all of this, it’s that he can trust his father no matter what, even if his methods are questionable. Arthur say they have a lot riding on this and they can’t afford to lose Gerald if he gets arrested. He’s too important to lose. They all agree and hope for the best.

When Gerald gets to the precinct, they try to get his identity, but he refuses to give them anything and that’s true in a sense, he doesn’t have his id on him. They try to run his prints to see if they have him in the system and he resists, so much that they put him in a separate room. The arresting officers go into their captain’s office to explain what happened. It’s obviously a busy night at the precinct with the ongoing riots and it allows Charles, John, Steven and Arthur to enter without much difficulty. Charles sneaks around the precinct, trying to find his father, while the others lay low. He walks around and he sees his father locked up in an interrogation room, his nose still bleeding and him trying to wipe it off his face. He sees Charles in the doorframe and he tries to tell that they should try and find something in the computers while everyone is distracted. Charles doesn’t understand a thing and he has to leave, as officers are coming. The arresting officers get out of their captain’s desk and the captain is revealed to be Gerald’s old boss, Ben McRae (Jesse Bradford). He walks in Gerald’s direction and Charles passes them in the opposite direction. He tells The League they need to cause a distraction and Arthur, still dressed like he’s homeless distracts a police officer while John presses on the emergency button, unlocking all the cells and turning on the sprinklers. Gerald seizes the opportunity to get out. Ben McRae catches a quick glimpse at him and he recognizes his former employee who disappeared. He tries to get to him, but the chaos prevents him to. Gerald talks to John and he tells him that the police used to keep a record of all the abandoned buildings in the city as a potential hotspot for arson or other felonies and they should look for that. He gives the message to Steven and Charles who enter the file room, while John helps Gerald to get out of the building. Arthur stays inside, guarding the door in case someone tries to enter.

Chartwell (Clancy Brown) and Victor (Michael Mando) answer Father Logan’s (John de Lancie) question. They will do everything in their power to launch the Apocalypse and it’s impossible for them to do it without him. He says their quest starts in the 1920’s and they need to get a book that will teach them how. The only problem is, the book is heavily guarded and only accessible by secular members and that’s when Father Logan comes into play. Outside, the rioters throw rocks at the building, breaking windows. Father Logan tries to scream for help, but Chartwell gags him. Victor grabs his shotgun and heads outside. He shoots them in the stomach and he drags them inside one by one. He tells Chartwell it was just an isolated group, no need to worry. Father Logan laughs at the possibility of travelling back in time, saying it’s impossible and against God’s will, but Chartwell says he’s above that and he’ll prove it to him. They get back into the car and Victor sets the buttons on the radio. He presses a button and in an instant, they’re gone, leaving no trace behind, other than the dead bodies in the warehouse and their stuff.

Charles feels like he’s close to find the file they’re looking for. On the other side of the door, Arthur, soaking wet, stalls Ben McRae who wants to get inside the room. Arthur makes up something on the spot to distract him. Charles finds the file and tries to leave, but Arthur blocks the door. John looks from the window and sees Arthur struggling. Against Gerald’s advice, he enters the precinct again and asks to speak directly to the Captain, causing a fuss. Ben is forced to leave Arthur and while he tries to find an officer to keep an eye on Arthur, Arthur allows Charles and Steven to leave the room. Arthur sneaks out behind officers and leaves the precinct. John makes up an excuse that he isn’t in the right precinct and gets back in the car. Everyone is soaking wet, but at least they got what they wanted. They ask Gerald why they just did all that and he says they now have a list of all the abandoned buildings in the city and they can start looking for them now.

Chartwell and Victor appear in Italy in the 1920’s with Father Logan. The Vatican is not far away and Chartwell ask Victor to hide the car, it’s not supposed to be here. They ask Father Logan if he speaks Latin and he says he learned it a long time ago and he’s not sure if he remembers it right. Chartwell asks him to stop lying to him and Victor hits him in the face. Victor opens the trunk and they put on priests outfits to blend in, before walking in the Vatican’s direction.

Plot: Judy (Jodelle Ferland) and Sarah (Odeya Rush) listen to the CD they received in the mail one more time. It’s Charles (Logan Lerman) speaking, telling her how much he loves her and he can’t wait to see her again. Judy and Sarah overanalyse it and realise that Charles has changed a bit. He says he can’t wait to see her child, but he must go now. They ask themselves how he managed to send this when he’s not even here anymore. Mary (Cara Buono) enters the room and gives Judy’s baby back to her, saying she has other things to take care of and she doesn’t have the time for a real baby when she supports four giant babies all day. Sarah asks her mom to chill out a bit and Mary says she has no idea what it means. She tells her daughter that she should do her homework instead of watching this over and over again and Sarah reluctantly agrees. Mary goes back to the kitchen where she was cleaning the dishes. She finally puts her last plate down, before laying down on the couch for a well-deserved rest. She looks at the moon by the window.

It’s a full moon in Montreal as Gerald (Brendan Fraser) and Charles inspect buildings from the list they stole from the police station. They ask themselves if this is really worth it as they inspect yet another empty building. They check it off the list and walk to the next one. On their way, they ask if they miss their family and if they think they will be able to get back to them someday. Gerald says they’re getting closer, he’s feeling it, but he admits that the past day has been a wild ride. He’s tired and sore, but he needs to keep on. Charles says he can’t wait to be back and finally meet his child. He wonders how the family is doing and dealing with their disappearance. Gerald interrupts him and blocks his path. There’s blood on the floor and we see they are at the right building.

Father Logan (John de Lancie) is walking at a brisk pace, followed closely by Chartwell (Clancy Brown) and Victor (Michael Mando). They walk past a priest and greet each others. Chartwell says they don’t speak with anyone, unless they absolutely have to. They enter a building in the Vatican and immediately head downstairs. Chartwell leads the way, you can tell he has been here before. Logan wants to ask questions, but he’s pressured by his assailants to keep his mouth shut and do as he’s told. They go through a bunch of doors and find themselves outside again. They cut across an empty field and enter in a chapel. With Victor’s help, Chartwell moves the altar, revealing a set of stairs. They go down and bring candles with them. They walk in underground tunnels until they reach a certain spot. Victor pushes on the ceiling and they find themselves in a secured room, guarded by two doors. They force Logan up and tell him to grab the book on the pedestal. He does and the guard see him. They ring a bell, the alarm for the entire city.

Gerald and Charles enter the building and see signs that it has been occupied by people. Charles thinks it may be homeless people, but Gerald rejects the idea, the fire in the barrel is too recent and they aren’t around anymore. If it were homeless people, they would still be here and they aren’t the kind to shoot themselves  and beat themselves to death, as he shows the pile of dead bodies to Charles. Charles grabs his walkie-talkie and calls for immediate help at their address, they may have found something.

Chartwell, Victor and Logan run in the underground tunnels and they blame Logan for the alarm, even though it was have been triggered even if Chartwell or Victor did it. They climb back in the chapel and guards are waiting for them with sticks. Victor peeks and sees them. He grabs a hidden gun from his belt, and he starts shooting at the guards as Logan takes cover. More guards are coming now and he takes out a machine gun from his back, way too advanced for time setting and easily takes care of them. They have the entire police force after them and Victor kills them all. Father Logan prays as he looks at the full, while being dragged around the Vatican by Chartwell. They get back to their car and Victor peeks out the window to shoot the people who were still following them. Chartwell activates the machine and in an instant, they’re gone and the carnage is over.

As Gerald keeps looking in the building for clues, Charles start readings the books and looking at the stuff left behind by Chartwell and Victor. He has already been kidnapped by them before, and it definitely looks like their stuff. He grabs the stick in the fire and recognizes the symbol they wanted to print on his body. Gerald comes back to him, he didn’t find anything else. He hears someone entering and both him and Charles draw their pistols out, but it’s just John (Peter Stormare). He says the others are coming soon, he was the closest. He looks at the stuff and is quick to figure out what it all means. He’s been after them for years, he knows their stuff. They’ve definitely been here. As he grabs a book and starts explaining what it means to Gerald and Charles, they hear some rattling and people entering. They don’t bother, thinking it’s just Arthur and Steven arriving, but it’s not. It’s Chartwell and Victor, back with their book and Father Logan.

Plot: Victor (Michael Mando) is carrying Father Logan (John De Lancie) in his arms and Chartwell (Clancy Brown) is following him when they enter in the warehouse where Gerald (Brendan Fraser), Charles (Logan Lerman) and John (Peter Stormare) were looking at traces of their passage. Gerald is looking at a book with John while Charles is looking at the dead bodies. Chartwell and Victor don’t move, but when Father Logan recognizes Gerald, he asks out for help. Gerald takes his gun out and he tells them to surrender. Victor and Chartwell comply. They throw their hands up in the air and let Logan go. Gerald asks them to surrender and to give themselves up. He sends John and Charles to search them and while Charles pats down Victor, he grabs his and takes hi hostage, taking out a gun of his own. Chartwell says it just got interesting. Gerald looks at John and he gestures him to grab the book, but before he has the chance to do it, Chartwell understood what was happening and he knocks down John. He grabs a stool and tells Gerald that they should sit down and talk their way through this. Gerald refuses to and he keeps Victor at gunpoint.

Chartwell is finally able to reason him not to try anything heroic and Gerald sits down with them, as Victor releases Charles. Gerald doesn’t waste any time and he asks Chartwell what he has done to him to deserve any of this. Chartwell laughs and he says that’s a long story. Charles prefers to ask who they are and Chartwell says this is also an interesting questions. They should start by the beginning. He says that by now he has been in touch with The League, referring to John, so he must know that they are planning the apocalypse. Gerald asks if this is really necessary and Chartwell says it is, because humanity must answer for their sins. He travelled a lot to achieve that and he did some evil things, but he all thinks it was worth it, because he’s closer to his goal than he ever was. But then, just when everything was going great, Gerald had to come along and start investigating him. He was good he must admit and they had to get rid of him. Gerald asks if his family had to go with him and Chartwell says he had to get rid of everyone, or it wouldn’t have worked. It’s more believable if a policeman who people think has gone rogue disappears with his entire family than if he just disappears alone. Plus, he couldn’t separate a loving family like Gerald’s, they all seemed happy together. Gerald asks him to cut the bullshit, they have backup coming, so better end this quick. Gerald looks around and he finds out that he was so captivated by Chartwell’s monologue that he didn’t realise Victor snuck in behind them and muffled Charles and tied Gerald up. Since Gerald wants to know what they’re doing, he should witness it with his own eyes. As for the backup, they’ll take care of him when they come back. He drags Charles and Gerald to the car and he shoves them in the backseat. Chartwell makes sure to bring their newly acquired book with him and their time travelling car disappears.

When they reappear, they find themselves in the Middle Ages, somewhere in what id today’s Germany. Still tied together, Chartwell brings them, along with Victor, inside an old barn in a village. They make sure they hide the car somewhere safe before. He says he loves to set fire to things. Watching a building burn away brings him so much joy, even more so when he knows that it gets him closer to his goal. Gerald asks what’s the point in setting buildings on fire and he says that the spirits that can help him in his quest to launch the Apocalypse must be fed and they feed with fires. He grabs chalk from his pockets and he draws his symbol in the barn.He gets down on his knees and says a prayer to himself, before signaling Victor to set it on fire. He sets it on fire with gasoline and they all leave and watch it burn. Chartwell looks on and starts praying. For the average people, it may just be nonsense and you can think Chartwell is just a crazy old lunatic, but Gerald and Charles are religious people and they really think Chartwell is talking to the devil himself. Gerald makes a move and he tackles Chartwell, breaking his trance. He gets angry and they hurry back to the car, he says he ruined the moment. As Chartwell curses in front, Gerald whispers that they he has a plan when they come back and to follow him closely in the believe in him.

When they get back in the warehouse, Victor takes the time to unload the car and Chartwell is still furious and he starts praying to his God so he can forgive him, basically leaving Charles and Gerald without surveillance. Gerald discretely walks over to where Chartwell placed the book he recently stole and seems to be really important. He grabs it and hides it in his clothes. He goes over by the fire, Charles still tied to him. He asks Chartwell if he still wants his book and dangles it over the fire, ready to drop it at any moment. Victor sneaks behind them and he grabs Charles and grabs his hand and pins it down on the table. Gerald says if they touch him, he drops the book in the fire. Chartwell keeps his calm and offers Gerald something in return of the book. He says he could bring him back to his family in the 2010’s. Gerald says that’s not really what he wants, he wants to go back to the sixties. Chartwell says that can’t happen, he knows too much. Chartwell says that if he gives him his book back, he will bring him back, he promises. Gerald asks him why he should believe him and he says he never wanted to hurt him, he just wanted him to get away. Gerald agrees. He gives the book back and Chartwell asks Victor to bring them back in the car and to drop them off in the 2010’s. Before Victor releases Charles, Chartwell says he has something to do first and he chops Charles’ finger off. Gerald asks him why he did that and Chartwell says it will be a way for him to remember that he’ll always be watched by them and stop chasing them and also to remind him that he chose his family and a son that isn’t even his, over saving the entire world. Gerald grabs something to stop Charles bleeding as they get in the back of the car and disappear.

In their bedroom, Sarah (Odeya Rush) and Judy (Jodelle Ferland) tell each other that they miss Charles and they should watch the video again. They watch it again and notice in horror that Charles is missing a finger now.
