Rubber City Rockers - Part 1
Genre: Comedy
Executive Producer: David Wain
Writer: D.R. Cobb
Based on the graphic novel Punk Rock and Trailer Parks by John "Derf" Backderf
Cast:
Ross Lynch .... Otto
Charlie Tahan .... Pete
Logan Miller .... Wes
Natalie Alyn Lind .... Teri Workman
Justin Long .... Klaus Nomi
Plot: The lanky and bespectacled super-geek Otto (Ross Lynch) speeds down the streets of suburban Richford, Ohio, in his beat-up '68 Mercury Cougar, leaving a trail of black smoke and oil in his wake. He pulls up to Richford High School, featuring a boulder in front spray-painted with "Class of 1980 RULEZ".
In Biology class, the teacher bemoans that a religious girl has demanded class time to offer a Biblical rebuttal to their recent lesson on Darwin. The teacher rolls his eyes and gives the girl the floor. Suddenly the door flies open, and Otto announces that "The Baron" has arrived. He makes a comment to his classmate Pete (Charlie Tahan) about how there's nothing hotter than a Jesus freak. Pete says that nobody's that horny. Pete asks Otto if he can still take him to a concert in the nearby metropolis of Akron, Ohio. Otto confirms that Pete will indeed have the services of The Baron that evening, but that it has to be after the football game since he is in the band after all.
After the school marching band performs, Otto and the rest of the band retires to the stands with his trombone. Someone in the crowd compliments the show, but Otto says they sucked, that the flag squad was out of step half the show. Pete, nearby, comments on how much Otto is sweating. Otto says he gives it his all before sitting down. He soon begins commentating on the football game going on, making fun of the Richford team for being down 23 at the start of the 2nd half. He then turns his gaze to the cheerleaders, and the ever beautiful Teri Workman (Natalie Alyn Lind) in particular. Suddenly, Otto's leg is burned by a cigarette coming from under the bleachers. He looks underneath, and a bunch of burnouts laugh at him. He tells them to go ahead and yuck it up, then orders the trombone section to empty their spit valves under the bleachers, covering the burnouts in old spit and slide oil.
After the game Otto, still in his band uniform pants and spats, meets Pete and Wes (Logan Miller) in front of the school and shows them to his car, the Cougar, one of Detroit's classics. Wes wonders whether the car will even make it out of the parking lot. Cut to: the Cougar barreling down a dark road. Wes and Pete sit in the back where they notice the floor is just a piece of plywood. Otto tells them to hold it down with their feet. Otto reaches for a tape recorder, turns it on and rips a loud fart into it. Pete and Wes are baffled. Otto explains that it's his documenting all of farts for the entire school year with plans to turn it in as his senior project. Wes, still freaked out by the plywood floor, wonders why he can't sit up front. Otto tells him The Baron like to chauffeur.
They arrive in downtown Akron, which just a few years prior had been the rubber capital of the world, but now looks more like a wasteland, with Otto comparing the city to the Charlton Heston movie, The Omega Man, which Pete and Wes of course haven't seen. They arrive at the club, The Bank, an abandoned bank that has been turned into a punk club. Otto asks who they're seeing, and Wes tells him that it's Klaus Nomi, a theatrical German who sings in weird operatic falsetto. Before the show, the three head up to a balcony in the club and find Klaus Nomi (Justin Long) himself sitting in a corner upstairs. Otto walks right up to him and welcomes him the the Rubber City. Nomi is immediately taken by the spats Otto is wearing on his shoes as part of his band uniform and offers to buy them from Otto, who refuses his money and simply gives them to Nomi free of charge.
Before the show starts, Pete excitedly tells Otto that despite Akron being a belly-up Rustbelt hellhole, it is in fact a hotbed of punk rock. I started a few years prior with Devo, and after them the town became a breeding ground for punk and new wave music. They head down to the main floor as Nomi begins his show sing "Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead" in a his falsetto voice (with a strong German accent). Otto pulls out his tape recorder, not to record the show, but to once again record a fart.

Rubber City Rockers - Part 2
Genre: Comedy
Executive Producer: David Wain
Writer: D.R. Cobb
Based on the graphic novel Punk Rock and Trailer Parks by John "Derf" Backderf
Cast:
Ross Lynch .... Otto
Raymond J. Barry .... Uncle Elmo
Charlie Tahan .... Pete
Logan Miller .... Wes
Justin Long .... Barry Workman
Natalie Alyn Lind .... Teri Workman
H. Jon Benjamin .... Ronny
Plot: Wes (Logan Miller) walks through a trailer park at night. Suddenly the door to one of the trailers bursts open. Otto (Ross Lynch) welcomes Wes to his humble abode. Wes tells Otto that he's never been in the trailer park before and that it seems like a freaky place to live. Otto tries to explain that the trailer park is not the white trash slum everyone thinks it is. It's really no different than any other neighborhood in Richford. It has all the same small-town, in-bred whackjobs. Otto offers to take Wes on a tour of the trailer park.
As they walk through the trailer park, Otto tells Wes that there used to be a lot more trailers in the park, but when the tire plants closed, a lot of folks packed up and returned to West Virginia, trailers and all. Otto says that he only lives there because his uncle Elmo owns the park. They walk past a man, Ronny (H. Jon Benjamin), who starts barking like a dog at them. Wes is clearly freaked out by the barking man, but Otto tells him that he just barks when he doesn't take his meds, not a big deal. Every neighborhood has a guy who makes animal noises after all. They finish their lap and head into Otto's trailer. Wes asks if Otto's parents are home, and Otto tells him that he lives with his uncle, but he's out at the pub for the evening. Otto then shows Wes his room, or "Otto's Domain" as he calls it. Otto turns on his television and gives Wes a lecture about beach party films, calling them American culture at its lowest, which means its finest. He goes on and on about the plot and about the wacky, pointy bras from the 1950s. Wes can hardly keep up with Otto, let alone the movie as well. Otto then points out that one of the actresses is clearly pregnant based on how she's wearing huge tent dresses at the beach. Wes says it's better than seeing her waddling around in a bikini, but Otto proclaims that "preggos" are hot. Wes jokes that Otto has probably never even seen a naked girl. Otto stands up and tells Wes that he's seen the holy grail of naked girls - he's seen Teri Workman's boobs. Wes doesn't believe Otto at all, so Otto tells Wes to get up so that they can go to Teri Workman's house.
Otto and Wes sneak through a patch of woods with a flashlight. They finally reach the back of a house. They crouch behind a bush and Otto pulls out a pair of binoculars. Otto hands them to Wes and tells him to look in the window on the left. Teri Workman (Natalie Alyn Lind) emerges in the window. Otto and Wes gleefully watch as Teri undresses in front of the window. Suddenly their view is blocked by Teri's brother Barry Workman (Justin Long) who is holding a shotgun. He screams at Otto and Wes as they run away, calling them pervs. He fires the shotgun in their direction as he chases after them. Otto and Wes hide in a bush and wait for Barry to leave the area.
In the morning, Otto and Wes wake up in the bush, having fallen asleep while waiting for Barry to leave. The two start walking down the street when they see an old man driving a lawn mower down the street. Otto tells Wes that it is his Uncle Elmo (Raymond J. Barry), and that his aunts took away his car after he passed out drunk behind the wheel and ran over the mayor's lawn jockey. As they approach the trailer park, Wes tells Otto he'll see him Monday at school. In his trailer, Otto grabs his year book from the last school year. He turns to a page with a picture of Teri Workman. He then closes his bedroom door and locks it behind him.

Based on the graphic novel Punk Rock and Trailer Parks by John "Derf" Backderf
Cast:
Ross Lynch .... Otto
Charlie Tahan .... Pete
Logan Miller .... Wes
Justin Long .... Joey Ramone
Saxon Sharbino .... Lisa Zolka
Martin Starr .... Johnny Ramone
Jay Baruchel .... Marky Ramone
Michael Cera .... Dee Ramone
Plot: Monday at school, Otto (Ross Lynch) and Wes (Logan Miller) sit in the cafeteria telling Pete (Charlie Tahan) about seeing Teri naked the other night. He doesn't believe the story that Otto tells him until Wes confirms that the entire story is true. Pete then notices Lisa Zolka (Saxon Sharbino) walking by. He says hi to her, but she walks right by. Wes marvels how she doesn't even appear to her Pete when he talks to her. Otto asks if Pete fancies one of the local pubescent trollops. Confused, Pete asks if Otto is asking his own bizarre way if he has the hots for Lisa Zolka, and if so, the answer would be yes. Pete says it doesn't matter though since Lisa doesn't even know his name. Otto tells Pete to let The Baron work on that. He will concoct a way to get Lisa to notice him. Pete shrugs and tells Otto to go ahead and scheme away. Wes nervously asks if any of them know if Lisa has a heavily armed sibling. Otto says that a little gunplay was a small toll to pay for the wonders they saw. Otto then asks Wes and Pete when they are going to The Bank again. Wes says the Ramones are playing on Saturday. Otto says he has heard rumors of them and is intrigued.
Saturday night at The Bank, Otto is in the heart of the moshpit as Joey Ramone (Justin Long) belts out the chorus of "Blitzkrieg Bop". Otto takes a boot to the sideof the head, but just keeps on rocking out. Johnny Ramone (Martin Starr) wails away on his guitar, while Dee Dee Ramone (Michael Cera) plugs away at his bass and Marky Ramone (Jay Baruchel) pounds on his drumkit.
After the show, Wes and Pete leave The Bank talking about how awesome the concert was. They then notice that Otto hasn't made it out of the venue yet. Wes says the last time he saw Otto was when he was upfront during the encore. Suddenly a man bumps into Wes. Wes apologizes to the man, who promptly turns around and punches Wes square in the face. The man and his friend tell Wes and Pete they should listen to some better bands, like Bad Company. Otto suddenly emerges from the shadows and beats the man to a pulp. First with a punch to the jaw, then a kick to the groin. The man throws a punch at Otto, who catches it with his hand, and throws the man into a fence with a crash. The man and his friend hustle away from Otto with a whimper. Pete is stunned that Otto kicked the guy's ass so easily as if he has super strength. Wes proclaims that Otto really is The Baron.
As the boys start walking back to Otto's car, they here a voice call out to them. They turn around and find themselves face to the face with THE Ramones. Johnny asks them if there is anyplace to get some decent food. Marky comments that it looks like the whole town is boarded up. Wes and Pete are too stunned to speak, but Otto excitedly asks the band if they like a good burger.
The Ramones' tour bus sits parked outside the Sky-Way Drive-In Diner. On board, the boys eat burgers with the band. Joey thanks Otto for the tip as the burgers are good. Otto tells them he felt they deserved the best in town. Joey asks the boys how they liked the show. Pete and Wes are about to answer when Otto jumps to his feet calling the show revelatory. He tells them that he was unfamiliar with the band's repetoire going in since Wes was the big fan, but Otto says he had an epiphany during the middle of "Rockaway Beach". There was a moment where Joey paused his singing and hocked a giant loogie into the crowd. It seemed to defy the laws of gravity as it floated and danced, a shimmering undulating giant gobble of spittle. Time stopped as it hung in mid-air. When that spit hit the ground, Otto says that all of his inhibitions vanished. He thanks the band fr giving him that feeling and proceeds to shake the hands of each of them. The Ramones' tour bus drops the boys off back where they parked Otto's car. Otto bids the band farewell as the bus quickly speeds away.
Otto and Pete hide behind some hedges in front of Lisa Zolka's house. They're completely naked. Pete asks Otto why they're doing this exactly. Otto tells Pete that it's about his confidence. He won't feel invisible around Lisa anymore knowing that she's seen him naked. They each put on a paper bag with eye holes cut out and run up to the door. Otto tells Pete to run if her dad answers as he rings the door bell. Lisa answers the door and gasps. Just then, Otto pulls the bag off of Pete's head and runs away. Lisa looks at Pete and asks if his name is Peter. Pete runs after Otto, cursing him, and chasing him down the street. Otto yells that at least Lisa will always remember Pete's name now. As the chase continues, Otto wonders aloud where the bush they stashed their clothes is.

Plot: Otto (Ross Lynch) is in front of his trailer working on his car when he hears a commotion. The ever crazy Ronny (H. Jon Benjamin) storms out of his trailer. Ronny's Mom (June Squibb) calls for him to come back into the house, but Ronny is cursing at her to leave him alone. Otto takes a seat on the hood of his car and watches the commotion. Ronny then slips into barking like a dog. Ronny's Mom tries to get him to calm down, but he refuses until his parents turn the channel back to Wonder Woman. Ronny's unseen father yells from inside the trailer that he's sick of that show. Ronny's Mom promises to turn the channel back to Wonder Woman if Ronny comes back inside. Ronny suddenly calms down and slinks back into his trailer. Otto then gets into his car and drives down the lane to the exit of the trailer park. As he's turning out onto the street, Otto sees his Uncle Elmo (Raymond J. Barry) pull into the trailer park on his riding lawn mower, beer in hand. Otto waves at Uncle Elmo and shouts hello to him, but Uncle Elmo can't hear it over the sound of the mower.
Otto, Pete (Charlie Tahan) and Wes (Logan Miller) are hanging out at The Bank when they are approached by the Bank Manager (Jenn Lyon). She asks Otto if he was the one who beat up those two stoners after the Ramones show. Otto says they deserved it. She assures him he's not in trouble. She says the Ramones told her that he took them out to eat too. She says he made quite the impression on them. She then asks Otto if he's 18 years old. He tells her he's 19. Wes asks if he flunked a grade. Otto says he was held back in 2nd grade since the school thought he was mildly retarded. Wes starts laughing. Otto says that the line between genius and retard is a thin one, and that The Baron's brilliance was not apparent to the louts running Richford Elementary. The Bank Manager becomes impatient with the derailment of the conversation and asks Otto if he wants a job. She says the owner wants another man on weekends, especially one with personality and muscle. Otto accepts the offer and asks when he should start. She says how about now and tells him to follow her. As Otto is led away from the table, Wes says that Otto truly is the Baron, and Pete nods in agreement.
The next day at school, Pete walks into the AV room where he finds Otto at one of the film editing machines. He asks Otto what he's editing. Otto says he's just adding enhancement to a driver's ed film. He's splicing in a few random frames from a porn film. Pete reads the packaging from the porn film: The Humpback of Naughty Dames. Otto says it'll be too quick to notice with the naked eye, but it'll register subconsciously. By the end of the film on the art of parallel parking, the entire class should be engorged with sexual tension.
Otto heads down the hall to deliver the film and projector to the class room of Mr. Dickerson. When he enters the class, the room is empty, but the teacher's office door is slightly open and he hears voices from inside. Otto sneaks over and peeks through the crack in the door. Inside, Otto sees Mr. Dickerson (Justin Long) and Teri Workman (Natalie Alyn Lind) making out. Otto hurries out of the classroom, accidentally bumping into a desk on his way through the class room. This alerts Dickerson who opens the office door and looks outside into the classroom. Mr. Dickerson closes the door, locks it, and then turns his attention back to Teri Workman.
Otto walks down the hall with his fists clenched. A couple jocks start hassling him, but Otto grabs them by the head and slams them into the lockers. Otto then continues his march down the hall.

Cast:
Ross Lynch .... Otto
Charlie Tahan .... Pete
Logan Miller .... Wes
Justin Long .... Plasmatics Manager
Betty Gilpin .... Wendy O. Williams
Saxon Sharbino .... Lisa Zolka
Plot: Otto (Ross Lynch) and Wes (Logan Miller) are at the record store. Wes excitedly announces that they have the new Rootboy Slim and the Sex Change Band album. He says that every week there's something new... and cool. Wes says punk and new wave music is gonna change the world. Otto says Wes is dreaming. He loves the music too, but they are at the only store in town that carries ANY punk or new wave music, and even here it is separated from the "real" rock music, as if mixing in The Clash will somehow infect the rock genre. Otto asks if this really sounds like a cultural force that will change the world. Otto continues without waiting for a reply from Wes to say that there are simply way too many conglomerates lined up to stomp down the music they didn't make. Too much money has been invested in the next Foreigner LP to allow some DIY assholes to succeed. Otto continues his rant by bringing up that there isn't a single radio station in town that plays ANY new music, not one lousy single. Otto begins blaming the hippies. He says they are the first generation in human history that refuses to give away to the next generation, so it's their music that fills the airwaves because they own the airwaves. Wes says he can't believe that The Saints and The Clash will be drowned out by the likes of Aerosmith. Otto bets that 30 years from now Aerosmith will still be selling out arenas full of morons. Otto comes across the album of the band playing at The Bank that weekend, The Plasmatics.
At The Bank, Otto is working backstage. He brings Plasmatics lead singer Wendy O. Williams (Betty Gilpin) a can of shaving cream as she asked for. Wendy is a little angry that the shaving cream isn't Barbasol like she always uses. Otto apologizes and explains that all the stores around there close at 5 and he had to go all the way to the ghetto to find an open store and that was the only shaving cream they had. Otto says he has used the brand before and vouches for it. Wendy says it's fine, it's her roadie's fault, not Otto's. She then asks Otto how many cops are there tonight. Otto says there are a shitload, mostly vice. Wendy says she only gets hassled in towns like Akron.
During the concert, Wendy announces that the next song is for the pigs out there tonight. Otto is watching the show next to the Plasmatics Manager (Justin Long). She turns away from the crowd, takes her top off and covers her breasts with the shaving cream. She turns back toward the crowd and begins the song. The band's manager comments that the shaving cream is melting off way sooner. It quickly melts away, exposing her breasts to the crowd. The stage is immediately swarmed by the plainclothes cops there and Wendy is arrested for indecent exposure. The Manager comments that the Barbasol has never failed before.
At school on Monday Wes is laughing in the halls that Otto is the reason Wendy O. Williams got arrested. They then see the Bible-thumper Betty from Biology class walking down the hall, now visibly pregnant. Otto says she hasn't told anyone who the father is, but he's putting his money on her pastor. Wes changes the subject back to the Plasmatics and asks if the band was pissed. Otto says far from it. Her manager couldn't thank him enough since you can't buy that kind of publicity. He says that Wendy even stopped by the next day once she was out of jail and autographed the can of shaving cream for him.
As Otto and Wes walk down the hall they cross paths with Pete (Charlie Tahan) and Lisa Zolka (Saxon Sharbino) walking hand in hand. Otto asks how long that's been going on. Wes says the two have been an item ever since Otto convinced Pete to expose himself to her.

Natalie Alyn Lind .... Teri Workman
Shea Whigham .... Sheriff Knapp
A.D. Miles .... Deputy Steve
Beanie Feldstein .... Bible Becky
Plot: Otto (Ross Lynch) says hello to the now-pregnant Bible Becky (Beanie Feldstein), who simply looks at the ground and continues walking. Otto shrugs and walks down the hall with Wes (Logan Miller) and out of the building where they see Mr. Dickerson (Justin Long) talking to Teri Workman (Natalie Alyn Lind). Wes is surprised to see them and wonders aloud if Teri is Dickerson's latest conquest. They watch from a distance as Teri starts crying and Mr. Dickerson walks away from her. Wes says that it looks like Mr. Dickerson just ended things with her. Otto and Wes watch as Mr. Dickerson gets in his VW Beetle in the parking lot.
Mr. Dickerson VW Beetle is driving down the road when he is suddenly run off the road by another car - Otto's beat-up '68 Cougar. The Beetle crashes through a fence and down an embankment and into a creek. He gets out of the car and screams at the other car. Otto, as he speeds away, cranks up the Clash's "I Fought the Law". As he pulls onto his street he sees Uncle Elmo driving his lawnmower down the road. Otto waves to him. When Otto pulls into the trailer park, he sees several police cars blocking off the entrance. Otto panics and wonders aloud if Mr. Dickerson got his license plate number and called it in.
Otto pulls over and walks toward the trailer park. Deputy Steve (A.D. Miles) stops him and says he can't go into the trailer park. Ronny flipped out again, barricaded himself in his trailer and took his parents hostage. Deputy Steve comments that it's definitely the funny farm for Ronny this time. Sheriff Knapp (Shea Whigham) comes over and tells Deputy Steve to get out the megaphone so he can try to reason with Ronny. Knapp comments that the Ronny's parents don't keep guns around, but that Ronny is yelling that he has plastic explosive. Sheriff Knapp approaches the trailer with the megaphone and asks Ronny to come out. They can hear Ronny yelling that he doesn't want to watch "Hee-Haw". He yells that he wants to watch "Wonder Woman". Sheriff Knapp tells Ronny that he'll let him watch "Wonder Woman" if comes out willingly. There are several loud crashing noises. Suddenly, the door flies open and Ronny (H. Jon Benjamin) stands there completely naked, holding two wires that lead up his ass. Sheriff Knapp yells to Ronny that nobody wants to see that and asks what the wires are for. Ronny says that he has plastic explosive and he's shoved up his ass. One of the officers tackles Ronny from behind and cuffs him.
Deputy Steve goes and grabs Otto to tell him everything is safe now. Otto asks how Ronny's parents are doing. Deputy Steve says they're okay. Ronny had them tied up with lamp cords, but he didn't hurt them. Ronny's mom was a bit shaken, but Ronny's dad is watching TV with a beer like nothing happened. Otto asks what he's watching and Deputy Steve says it looked like "Wonder Woman". Otto asks about the plastic explosive. Deputy Steve pulls it out and says Ronny had shoved Play-Dough up his ass. Otto gets in his car and drives it up to his trailer now that everything has calmed down.

Cast:
Ross Lynch .... Otto
Justin Long .... Stiv Bators
Jenn Lyon .... Ruby
Natalie Alyn Lind .... Teri Workman
Beanie Feldstein .... Bible Becky
Tyler Posey .... Bozeman
Rex Linn .... School Principal
Plot: Otto (Ross Lynch) is bringing cases of beer into The Bank when the manager Ruby (Jenn Lyon) tells him that she just got off the phone with the manager of The Clash. Otto tells her he can't believe they're playing at The Bank, saying that they draw 100,000 fans to a gig in Hyde Park in London. She counters that here in middle America they have to play a modest club like The Bank. She says to look on the bright side though, thanks to the appalling taste of the American public they get The Clash there for two nights. She then tells Otto that the band's manager wants Otto to chauffeur the band around Akron. They want to experience America on this tour. She tells him to be creative and that they get in the day before the first show. Otto tells her he loves to chauffeur. She says all the bands demand his services and that he's becoming quite the legend. Otto tells her this was inevitable. Ruby then tells Otto there's a dead rat in the men's room urinal that needs to be taken care of. She then laughs that one minute he's the consort of rock stars, then next he's cleaning up dead rats. Otto says that's probably a metaphor for something but he doesn't car to decipher it. Otto then walks into the bathroom and lifts the dead rat out of the urinal.
At school, Otto is getting his lunch in the cafeteria when he sees Teri Workman (Natalie Alyn Lind) sitting by herself. She catches him staring at her. He says hello to her. She says hi back, but calls him Oscar. Otto heads to his seat and drops his food, bummed that Teri doesn't even know his name.
Otto then hears football captain Bozeman (Tyler Posey) start making fun of the pregnant Bible Becky (Beanie Feldstein). Bozeman asks how Damien's incubating and if she thinks the cloven feet will hurt on the way out. He gets out of his seat and leans against her table. She asks her if she likes going door to door spreading the good word. His buddies all laugh at his jokes. Bozeman then suggests Becky stick to the back door from now on. Becky is shaking with rage by this point. While Bozeman laughs with his buddies, Becky stands up and stabs Bozeman in the forehead with a fork. Bozeman panics and rips the fork out of his forehead, and blood starts streaming out of his head. The school principal (Rex Linn) rushes over and asks what's going on. He tells a student to hurry and get the school nurse. Becky then runs out of the school screaming. The principal tells everyone to calm down and says he has no doubt that Bozeman started the altercation. Otto sits in his seat, pointing and laughing at what has happened.
At The Bank, Otto is standing behind the bar, recounting the story of the fork incident to local punk legend Stiv Bators (Justin Long). Stiv eats the story up, cackling with laughter. Stiv says that Becky sounds hot. Otto says she definitely isn't, but she does have spunk. Otto asks Stiv what he's doing back in town, and Stiv tells him he has a solo album coming out soon, so he has to remind people he still exists. Otto asks if that means his band the Dead Boys are dead, and Stiv confirms they are. He explains to Otto that the average punk band has a life expectancy of about 11 days. Stiv then tells Otto he's ready. Otto quickly hands Stiv his tape recorder and Stiv promptly records his own fart. Otto then says into the recorder that that fart was courtesy of punk frontman Stiv Bators. Otto then tells Stiv that the idea of adding celebrity flatulence to the fart project was divine inspiration. He tells Stiv that he now has dozens of farts from musicians on tape: Johnny Rotten, Elvis Costello, The B-52's even managed some harmonies and he has no idea how they managed that one.

Ross Lynch .... Otto
Logan Miller .... Wes
Justin Long .... Lenny
Jenn Lyon .... Ruby
Lenny Ross .... Odgen
David Krumholtz .... Larry
Charlie Saxton .... Gus
Alia Shawkat .... Ogden's girlfriend
Plot: Otto (Ross Lynch) is doing inventory in the storage room at The Bank when he hears someone start to yell at Ruby (Jenn Lyon), his boss. The man, Lenny (Justin Long), says he's supposed to get free booze as part of his deal. Ruby tells him he's hit his quota since his band doesn't pull in enough of a crowd to cover how much he's drinking. Lenny orders her to give him another shot. Lenny's band mates: Odgen (Lonny Ross), Larry (David Krumholtz) and Gus (Charlie Saxton) try to get him away from the bar, but he instead throws a glass at Ruby. Otto then comes over and knocks Lenny out with one punch. Ruby comments that the bill for that night has to change now, but thanks Otto. He tells her that no one gets to hassle her while he's around. Otto picks up Lenny and asks his band mates where he should put their lead singer. They tell him their van is outside parked in front of the peep show down the street. The band members lament that they'll never get another gig at The Bank and Otto carries off their lead singer.
As Ogden, Larry and Gus show Otto where they can put Lenny they announce that they are dumping his ass from the band. Larry gives Ogden a nudge and he addresses Otto, asking him if he'd like to be their new lead singer. Otto is surprised that they would ask him, but Ogden says he's a natural choice since he's a recognizable figure in town and not already in a band, which is a rare combo. Otto asks if he can play the trombone too.
Otto and Wes (Logan Miller) are at a small house out by the old Firestone factory for Otto's first rehearsal with his new band. Wes begins to complain that they've been there for six hours and the band has only rehearsed two songs. Otto leans his head back and agrees with Wes' complaint. Ogden has spent most of the evening screwing with his junk equipment. Larry has spent the evening snorting coke. While Gus has been in a catatonic state for a couple hours staring slack-jawed at the televangelist on television. Gus then suddenly throws up on himself. Otto tells Wes that apparently Gus always throws up when he gets high, Otto then adds that he's pretty sure Gus is a junkie. Wes asks Otto what he's gotten himself involved in. Otto says that's just rock-n-roll. It ain't pretty. Ogden suddenly throws a beer can at Gus, yelling at him to turn off the church show. Otto announces that he and Wes are going to call it a night and take off. Larry and Ogden take offense to this since their first gig is in two weeks. Otto tells them he's beat. Ogden says that this isn't some high school garage band. They're professionals.
Otto tells Wes they should at least leave the room for a bit. Wes says he can't decide if his new band mates are completely delusional or just douchebags. Otto wonders aloud if there's any food as they wal to the kitchen. Otto opens the fridge and finds two beers and a package of cheese food. Wes says he has dibs on the cheese, but Otto says they can split it. Wes then points out a half-naked woman (Alia Shawkat) asleep on the kitchen floor. Otto says that's Ogden's girlfriend. Wes cracks open one of the beets in the fridge. Suddenly Ogden's girlfriend leaps to life and yells at them to get out. Otto tries to explain that he's in the band. Ogden tries to reason with his girlfriend at first, but then sees that Wes and Otto have one of his beers. Wes and Otto look at each other and then bolt from the house.

Beanie Feldstein .... Bible Becky
Plot: Otto (Ross Lynch) is behind the bar at The Bank getting ready for his band's first show. Wes (Logan Miller) and Uncle Elmo (Raymond J. Barry) are at the bar where Otto introduces them to Ruby (Jenn Lyon). As Otto's bandmates Ogden (Lonny Ross), Larry (David Krumholtz) and Gus (Charlie Saxton) all take the stage, Otto and Wes notice that Teri Workman (Natalie Alyn Lind) is at the show. Ruby asks Otto if he's nervous for his first show. Otto scoffs at the question, saying that he's been waiting his whole life for this moment. Otto then runs up to the stage and greets the audience. He then introduces them to The Ottos as his bandmates begin playing to massive applause.
After the show, Otto, drenched in sweat walks past Teri and tells her it's great she made it out to the show. Teri doesn't recognize him until he says they go to school together. He asks her how she liked the show, and she tells him that she wasn't really into it. She likes real rock-n-roll like Frampton and Journey. Otto's soul is crushed. He puts his head down as Teri leaves with her friends. Otto heads back to the bar where Uncle Elmo has fallen asleep.
Otto, Wes and Elmo are leaving The Bank when Ruby calls Otto over to talk. After a minute, Otto comes back to Wes and Elmo and asks Wes if he can drive Elmo home for him. Otto says that Ruby is going to give him a lift home, if he catches his drift. Wes agrees and gives Otto a high five. Back at Ruby's place, she and Otto have sex. Otto is all smiles as he calls himself The Baron.
At school the next day, Bozeman is furious that Bible Becky (Beanie Feldstein) didn't get in any trouble for stabbing him with a fork. She's tries to ignore him and walk away, but Bozeman blocks her path. She calmly asks him to leave her alone, but that just makes Bozeman angrier. Suddenly Bozeman hears a thunderous fart coming from Otto and walks away before the fumes hit. Otto then shows Becky that it was just his tape recorder. She laughs at the fart tape. Otto tells her not to interpret his act of heroism as any kind of theological affiliation.
Otto, Wes and Pete (Charlie Tahan) are all out at the lake drinking beers and listening to music. Otto talks about how he was originally planning on leaving Ohio right after graduation, but now he's thinking he may try to see how the music thing pans out. Pete laughs that only Otto would try to forge a punk rock career writing songs about subjects like Bertolt Brecht. Otto jokes that he's just trying to make up for the illiteracy of his bandmates by classing up the lyrics. Otto says that the record labels are impressed and one of them is sending an executive to his next show. Wes announces that he's going for a swim and dives into the lake. Otto and Pete continue talking, but after a few minutes notice that they don't see Wes anywhere in the water.
One week later, Otto is drinking away his sorrows at The Bank before his next show. Ruby asks how he's doing since Wes' death, and he says he doesn't want to talk about it. Ogden rushes over to Otto to tell him to get ready to go on stage since the Stiff Records Executive (Justin Long) is right up in front of the stage. Otto drunkenly stumbles up to the stage. Otto slurs into the mic that their first song is for his friend Wes who recently died. Otto starts to sing, but instead of words coming out of his mouth, a gigantic stream of vomit sprays from his mouth and all over the record executive. Otto then passes out, falling off the stage.
At closing, Uncle Elmo drags Otto out of The Bank commenting that he needs to teach Otto how to handle his booze better. Otto slowly begins recovering when his bandmates confront him and start beating him. Uncle Elmo smacks Ogden over the head with his cane, kicks Larry in the groin and chases Gus off. Otto thanks Uncle Elmo for his help, and Elmo says that's what he's there for, but that's probably the end of his music career.

Justin Long .... Ian Dury
Jenn Lyon .... Ruby
Beanie Feldstein .... Bible Becky
Plot: At school, Otto (Ross Lynch) is nursing a hangover and telling Pete (Charlie Tahan) about throwing up on the record executive at The Bank. Pete asks if Otto is going to be able to show his face at the club again, and Otto says of course, he'll be working on Saturday for his usual shift. Pete then notices two prom tickets sticking out of Otto's shirt pocket and is surprised to see that Otto is planning to go. Pete asks who he's going to ask, and Otto assures him that the Baron has someone on his radar. At The Bank, Ruby (Jenn Lyon) tells Otto to stop moping and listen to the music as Ian Dury (Justin Long) starts his set. Otto takes her advice and launches himself into the mosh pit.
In his car outside of the prom, Otto is getting a blowjob from Bible Becky (Beanie Feldstein). He comments that Becky is full of surprises. Becky says that just because she's a Christian doesn't mean she doesn't like sex. Otto jokes that the prom-goers will never forget the punk rocker and the pregnant zealot. They exit his car and walk into the dance as "Babe" plays by Styx. Otto groans.
One week later, Otto pulls up for work at The Bank and finds it closed, with For Lease signs plastered all over the front. Ruby calls out to Otto from the adult book store across the street. Inside the porn shop, Ruby tells Otto that the owner of The Bank called that morning and said the club was closed. She says that thankfully she knows the manager of the dirty book store and was hired on the spot, so she won't miss a payday. Ruby offers to get Otto a job a porn shop too, but he tells her he's going to leave town instead. Ruby leads Otto back to one of the video booths where they have sex. A customer tries to open the door, but Otto says the booth is taken.
On graduation day, Otto is packing up his car when Pete shows up to say his goodbyes. Pete is still surprised that Otto is skipping out on graduation. Otto says he has a job lined up working the boat house at a lodge in Canada and he has to be there tomorrow. Pete jokes that boat boy sounds like a shitty job. Otto tells Pete that female lodge staff outnumber the males four to one. Pete says it still sounds less fun than a career in rock and roll. Otto says that's a hopeless fantasy. The reality would be that he would spend the next decade playing shit hole clubs with three psycho dip shit band mates and never get out of Akron. Otto says he is relieved that won't be his fate, and he has learned a lot about fantasy vs. reality this year. The fantasy is the goddess Teri Workman, while the reality is a sexy, older punk angel and a pregnant religious nymphomaniac, and reality is pretty amazing. Otto gives Pete his final fart tape as something to remember him by. Otto drives off as Pete pops the fart tape into his Walkman and starts laughing almost immediately.
That night, Otto stands outside of Teri Workman's house in the bushes outside her window. He watches as Teri (Natalie Alyn Lind) begins to get ready for bed. Otto starts to get excited, that is until Teri pulls down her newly installed curtains. Otto comments to himself that the curtains are fittingly symbolic. Otto walks away from Teri's house, telling him self that Teri truly is a goddess, even if she does like Journey. Otto gets back into his car and blasts The Clash's "Death or Glory" as he speeds past the trailer park, where Uncle Elmo (Raymond J. Barry) is driving by on his lawn mower, and away from Akron.
