That night, Lyle brings Diane to a party at the house of his boss, David Traynor (Chris D'Elia). Traynor tells Diane that he runs a modeling agency that is looking for fresh talent. Diane is wary, but Traynor tells her that she could easily earn up to $10,000 month to start if she signed with him.
Detectives Sonny Crockett (Josh Holloway) and Ricardo Tubbs (Taye Diggs) are on the scene as a dead prostitute is being fished out of the Miami River. Lt. Martin Castillo (Andy Garcia) tells them that he suspects Traynor's organization is responsible and implores the Vice Squad to prove it. Stan Switek (Brad William Henke) and Larry Zito (Troy Garity) sneak into a party at Traynor's house disguised as exterminators. They have a hidden camera hidden in the exterminator equipment to photograph the guests.
Back at OCB, Tubbs is taken aback when he finds NYPD detective Valerie Gordon (Sharon Leal) in Castillo's office. Valerie tells him its been a while and explains that she has been trying to find her sister Diane for the last several months. She finally managed to trace Diane's whereabouts to Miami where she's been trying to find her for the past couple weeks. Tubbs is hurt that Valerie didn't call him when she got into town. Valerie reminds him that he broke things off with her. Tubbs apologizes and offers to show her around the city that night.
In the morning, Switek and Zito play their video footage for the rest of the squad. Castillo tells the team to identify everyone on the tape. Valerie walks into the room and spots her sister on the footage. Traynor and Lyle take Diane shopping and give her copious amounts of cocaine. Once she is high they pull the rug out and reveal that she will not be doing any modeling, but will rather be spending her nights working as a call girl. Diane, hooked on the money and drugs, doesn't mind the deception.
Crockett and Tubbs attend a party at Traynor's house in their cover identities of Burnett and Cooper. At the party, Tubbs locates Diane and tries to convince her to leave the party with him, telling her that he's a friend of her sister. When Diane refuses to leave, Tubbs begins to drag her away from the party. Lyle is about to attack Tubbs, but Crockett holds him off at gunpoint. Tubbs takes Diane into the surveillance van where Switek, Zito, Gina Calabrese (Katrina Law), and Valerie wait. Valerie tries to talk sense into Diane, but Diane gets hysterical and begins trying to leave the van. Valerie slaps her sister across the face to calm her down. The team takes Diane to a drug rehab center at the behest of Valerie. Diane angrily tells Valerie that she doesn't want to quit her life since she's making over $1000 a night.
At OCB, Crockett suggests that they try to get Diane to testify against Traynor to shut his operation down for good. Tubbs and Valerie object, saying that Diane has been used enough for the time being. Castillo agrees with them and asks Crockett to come up with another way to bring Traynor down. From the rehab center, Diane calls Traynor and tells him that she is leaving town for a while. Traynor gives Lyle the address to the rehab center and tells him to take care of Diane. Meanwhile, Tubbs is preparing to say goodbye to Valerie for good. She thanks him for all of his help. After exchanging their goodbyes, Valerie and Tubbs end up having sex.
In the morning, Diane's body is found in her room, dead from an apparent drug overdose. Traynor is brought in for questioning. Castillo sits on the interrogation with Tubbs, but ends up having to restrain Tubbs after he loses his cool with Traynor's lack of concern over Diane's death. Valerie tells them that she just wants to get her sister's body back to New York. Tubbs offers to take Valerie to the airport. He confessses that he still loves her. She tells him that she still has feelings for him as well. They share a kiss, and Tubbs asks Valerie to let him know once she lands in New York.

Plot: Sonny Crockett (Josh Holloway) manages to pull some strings and gets the charges against Valerie Gordon (Sharon Leal) dropped. His partner, Ricardo Tubbs (Taye Diggs) thanks Crockett for his help. Crockett says that's what partners are for. Tubbs tells Crockett and their superior Lt. Martin Castillo (Andy Garcia) that he is going to take a leave of absence to take Valerie back to New York City and to spend some time up there with her for a few days.
The next day, Lt. Castillo informs Crockett, Trudy Joplin (Megalyn Echikunwoke), Gina Calabrese (Katrina Law), Stan Switek (Brad William Henke) and Larry Zito (Troy Garity) that the Deputy Chief has reassigned all available personnel to help put a stop to a home invasion spree. The most recent invasion ended with the woman of the house being sent to the hospital with electrical burns. While the M.O. of the home invaders varies, there is one connecting thread that the families are always home at the time of the invasion and are brutalized by the perps. Castillo tells the squad tmhat they have to head into a meeting with Robbery Division, which is headed by Lt. Carl Hornacek.
When the squad arrives at Robbery, Crockett is reunited with Hornacek (Stephen Lang), his first boss with the police department, and his former partner, Mike Ebersole (Derek Phillips), who is proudly displaying a freshly grown mustache, which Crockett is quick to poke fun at. The meeting gets underway and Hornacek fills the Vice Squad in on what they know so far about the home invaders they're after. There have been six home invasions in the last eight weeks, totaling over $2 million in stolen goods and leaving five civilians injured. Descriptions of the suspects include the use of hockey masks and stockings to cover their faces. Looking over the information packet in front of him, Castillo begins picking it apart. Hornacek asks what Castillo means to say. Castillo tells him that the Robbery department is not handling the case as effectively as they could be. Crockett is somewhat embarrassed by his new boss arguing with his old boss.
The home invaders, Pete (Jeremiah Bitsui) and Nicky (Charles Baker), stake-out their next hit, taking pictures of the house, electrical boxes, street signs, people coming and going, security systems - everything they could possibly need to know. They head back to their hideout, which is loaded with disguises and weapons. After looking over all the information they've collected, Nicky says that the home they just scouted would be too risky. He says there are plenty of other scores that won't draw as much heat. Pete is disappointed, arguing that Nicky has gotten soft.
Crockett and Castillo visit the house the home invaders most recently hit to interview the victims. They talk to Mrs. Taylor (Anne Dudek), who describes in vivid detail what happened, as well as the injuries her children suffered. Castillo assures Mrs. Taylor that they will do what ever they can to catch the men responsible, and leaves her a questionnaire to detail her daily activities so that they may see where she could have possibly encountered the perps prior to the invasion. Back at OCB, Castillo asks Gina and Trudy to let him know if any prostitutes report any johns beating on them. They ask why, and he tells them that there was a similar string of home invasions in Chicago that they believed were connected to a string of prostitutes being assaulted.
The night the home invaders strike again, hitting the home of an elderly couple. After the hit, a policeman comes across the getaway car, and is killed by Pete with a silenced handgun. The elderly man was shot twice during the hit and is taken to the hospital. Castillo and Hornacek get into an argument at the crime scene. Crockett agrees with Castillo that Robbery's investigation has been threatened by the shoddiness of Hornacek's methods, but still stands up for Hornacek out of loyalty. Crockett and Castillo go to see Gina and Trudy, who have found a prostitute beaten by someone recently. Unfortunately the prostitute isn't able to give a very detailed description.
Castillo, Hornacek and Crockett review the questionnaires they gave the victims and discover a common thread - all of the female victims had their hair done at the same salon. Gina goes to have her hair done at the same salon and has a feeling the valet parking attendant, Pete, may be involved. Gina and Trudy bring the prostitute to the parking garage to see if she recognizes the parking attendant. Switek and Zito observe Pete making a copy of the keys to a car while the driver, Muriel Goldman (Morgan Fairchild), is in the salon. When she leaves, Crockett and Castillo pull her over to inform her that they believe she will be the victim of a home invasion that night. They tell her to head to OCB with her family immediately and they will try to catch the criminals at her house that night.
That night, Crocket and Castillo wait inside the Goldman home for the home invaders to arrive. Switek and Zito continue their surveillance on Pete, but he and Nicky change cars and lose the tail. Concerned that the home invaders haven't arrived yet, Crockett calls OCB to speak to Muriel, who reveals that she was driving her daughter's car that day. Crockett and Castillo race over to Muriel's daughter's house and arrive just as the invasion is in progress. Castillo breaks down the front door, and the rest of the Vice squad swarms inside, killing Pete and Nicky in an exchange of gun fire.
The next morning, Crockett and Gina are laying in bed on his boat when there is a knocking sound outside. Crockett gets up and finds Hornacek outside. Hornacek gives Crockett a fishing reel, which he calls a graduation present. Crockett thanks Hornacek, who then tells him that he has retired from the force. Hornacek decided that one sloppy case was more than he wanted on his record, so it seemed like a good time to hand in his gun.

Morgan (Anatol Yusef), the bookie who owns the hot dog stand the criminals hit previously, puts a price on the heads of the trio.
Crockett and Tubbs investigate the neighborhood where the latest stolen car was found abandoned. While Crockett talks to Brenda on the phone, the trio run out of a liquor store with a grocery bag of money, shooting their guns in the air. They get into yet another stolen car and speed off while firing at Tubbs and Crockett. Lt. Martin Castillo (Andy Garcia) is furious when he finds out that Crockett was on the phone when they encountered the criminals. They had killed the liquor store clerk, and perhaps if Crockett hadn't been on the phone he and Tubbs could have stopped it from happening. Castillo tells Crockett and Tubbs to monitor Morgan's operation. Crockett is apologetic about screwing up, but Castillo simply tells him to do his job.

Crockett takes Tubbs' advice and takes Brenda out onto the water on his speed boat.
Lamont spots the criminal trio in a restaurant. He calls Morgan, who sends a couple men to the restaurant to take care of the punks. The three criminals are unpazed by the threats of Morgan's men and quickly pull out their guns. They kill Morgan's men before shooting up the restaurant for fun. Tubbs swings by Brenda's house to pick up Crockett before heading over to question Lamont. While Crockett is getting his stuff together, Tubbs expresses his concern that she is out of Crockett's league and can do better than him. Brenda appears annoyed by Tubbs' comments. Lamont tells Crockett and Tubbs that the trio are definitely going to hit more of Morgan's hot dog stands and they can't be stopped - the three young men show no fear. Not too long later, Tubbs is pulled out of the van by Morgan's security, who proceed to rough him up. Crockett finally wakes up and hurries to get ready. As he exits the house, he finds Tubbs standing there, bleeding, bruised and disappointed.
At OCB, the Vice Squad plans to shut down Morgan's operation in response to his men attacking Tubbs. Castillo gives Crockett a stack of paperwork to fill out while the rest of the team heads to the beach to shut down Morgan and use the hot dog cart bookie operation to bait the criminal trio. Crockett heads to his sailboat to sort things out. He calls up Brenda and breaks things off with her.

Ace, Snake and Pyro need more money to continue their crime spree so they decide to hit another hot dog cart, which happens to be the one the Vice Squad has set up. Tubbs is undercover as the vendor when Ace pulls a gun on him, demanding all the money. Tubbs shoots Ace with a hidden gun, while Zito shoots and kills Snake. Pyro hops in a car and sets about trying to run over Tubbs, when suddenly Pyro is gunned down. The car then crashes into a palm tree. Tubbs, Zito and Switek are confused how Pyro was shot, when Crockett walks over to them. He apologizes for letting Brenda get in the way of his duty to them.

Plot: Sonny Crockett (Josh Holloway) and Ricardo Tubbs (Taye Diggs) are assigned to assist on a DEA task force in Bogota, Colombia. DEA Agent Hank Drummond (Henry Czerny) brings them into a hideout of the local military. They have captured an informant who works for a drug cartel run by the Revilla Brothers. The military have been torturing the informant to try to get him to reveal the cartel's flight schedules, but all they've been able to find out is that a cartel plane will be leaving out of a swamp, but he refuses to reveal which one. Tubbs tries talking to the tortured informant, but the military personnel stop him. The informant does however mutter the words "cross of Jesus" before Tubbs and Crockett are escorted out of the room by Drummond. As they leave the building, they hear a gunshot from the military executing the informant.
Back at OCB in Miami, the Vice Squad meets with the DEA to discuss the clue they were given. Crockett mentions that he busted a Colombian smuggler years prior who said his drop was called "Christ's Crossing" in the Everglades. Lt. Martin Castillo (Andy Garcia) agrees to allow his squad to accompany Drummond's DEA team to the location. They go to the Everglades and observe a boat bringing drugs to a plane. Stan Switek (Brad William Henke) and Larry Zito (Troy Garity) run surveillance while Crockett, Tubbs, Gina Calabrese (Katrina Law) and Trudy Joplin (Megalyn Echikunwoke) suit up for the strike team. The police move in and a shootout begins, killing most of the drug smugglers. They search the area, but are unable to find either of the Revilla Brothers. After the bust, the squad is invited to a party Drummond is throwing at the hotel in Miami. When Crockett and Tubbs arrive at the party they hear gunshots. They rush through and find Drummond and two of his agents dead and Gina badly wounded. Crockett rushes Gina to the hospital in his Ferrari. At the party, no body is able to locate the shooter.
Crockett is in Gina's hospital room while she is in surgery. Tubbs arrives to take Crockett to a meeting with the Miami DEA Commander at the the local DEA field office. When they arrive, they find Castillo already talking with DEA Commander Burr (Rob Corddry) about how the Revillas are not your typical drug lords. They grow, buy, import, market and ship the drugs themselves. They have higher profits than their rival cartels because they have completely eliminated the need for any middle men. Burr tells them that his intel suggests that the Revillas have relocated to New York City where two more DEA agents have been killed. Burr wants the Revillas flushed out and brought to justice. Castillo is wondering what that has to do with the Miami-Dade Vice Squad. Burr goes on to say that he believes the DEA's security has been compromised and that the Revillas most likely have files on all of the agents he's had on the case. Burr then asks Crockett and Tubbs to head to New York and pose as big-time drug dealers.
When Crockett and Tubbs land in New York, they head to see NYPD Lt. Pearson (Isaiah Washington), who makes it clear that he doesn't want them in his city. Pearson tells them that he has no interest in his department helping a couple Florida cops with federal backing. Crockett pulls out his phone and makes a call. Crockett then hands the phone to Pearson. Pearson listens to the voice on the other end of the phone briefly and then hands it back to Crockett. Pearson quickly becomes very cooperative and tells Crockett and Tubbs to locate Jimmy Borges. He's a mid-level drug fence and should be able to help them in their set-up.
Crockett and Tubbs follow Jimmy Borges (Chris Sullivan) to a diner and confront him. He is reluctant to get involved in whatever it is they are trying to pull off until they mention a large shipment of cocaine they have to sell. Jimmy promises to make a few calls and catch up with them later. That night, they meet Jimmy at Club Inferno where they are introduced to drug dealer Frank Puccio (Donnie Wahlberg). Puccio then introduces them to his a girlfriend, an undercover Valerie Gordon (Sharon Leal). Crockett and Puccio talk business while Tubbs and Valerie head to the dance floor. Puccio tells Crockett that he is reluctant to get into the cocaine trade with the Revillas commanding more and more of the market each day. Puccio warns Crockett not to try to muscle his way into Revillas' market share. On the dance floor, Valerie tells Tubbs that she is undercover as part of the NYPD investigation into Puccio. Tubbs shares with her that he's helping the DEA stop the Revilla Brothers. Puccio announces that he's leaving the club and calls out for Valerie to leave with him. Before she leaves, Valerie thanks Crockett for all his help in Miami.
The next day, Jimmy meets with the Revilla Brothers: Miguel (Guillermo Diaz) and Esteban (Jordi Molla). The warn him not to do any business with the Americans. Tubbs and Valerie meet up for lunch. After the meal, Tubbs goes in to kiss Valerie, but she turns away and leaves. Meanwhile, Crockett goes into a bar. He is approached by a woman, Penelope (Emmanuelle Chriqui), who asks if she saw Crockett at Club Inferno last night. After a few drinks, they head back to her apartment where they have sex. Crockett wakes up the morning and finds that Penelope's apartment is also an art studio and it is being set up for a gallery that night. Crockett asks the workers where Penelope is, but they tell him she left. Crockett starts getting dressed, but finds that his sidearm is missing. Meanwhile, Tubbs has found Valerie's apartment. He sees her and Puccio leave the building in separate directions. Instead of following the drug dealer Puccio, Tubbs decides to follow Valerie.
Jimmy meets up with Crockett and tells him that no pushers are buying cocaine right now from anyone other than the Revillas for fear of what they may do. Jimmy leaves the meeting just before NYPD shows up and starts giving Crockett and Tubbs a hard time. Lt. Pearson emerges and gloats that they haven't been able to make any deals to get them closer to the Revillas yet.

Plot: Crcokett (Josh Holloway) and Tubbs (Taye Diggs) tell Jimmy Borges (Chris Sullivan) at Club Inferno that they will raise his cut of the cocaine deal to 50% to help them broker something. Jimmy is still reluctant. Suddenly a gunman enters the building and opens fire on Crockett, Tubbs and Jimmy. Crockett and Tubbs quickly shoot the thug down. Terrified, Jimmy tells Crockett and Tubbs that the Revillas' supply is delivered in Jackson Heights. Crockett returns to Penelope's (Emmanuelle Chriqui) studio and asks for his gun back. She apologizes for taking it and asks him to have dinner with her. Tubbs goes back to Valerie's (Sharon Leal) place and confront her about her role with Puccio, who Tubbs believes she is sleeping with. Tubbs is angry that Valerie hasn't been honest with him, and mentions that even her sister was unafraid to admit she was turning tricks. Valerie slaps Tubbs, and says that Puccio is good to her, but that she will not hesitate to move on him once her superiors give her the order. Tubbs leaves in frustration.
Crockett wakes up in Penelope's bed again. This time she is still there, albeit on the phone with someone. Crockett thanks her for a nice evening, but tells her he has some business to conduct and has to leave. Crockett and Tubbs head to the Jackson Heights location and follow the Revillas' shipment. He tells them his superiors are pissed that they blew up a warehouse and have given him permission to pull all the backup for their meeting with Jimmy and Esteban, leaving Crockett and Tubbs to confront the Revillas alone. Tubbs storms into Valerie's apartment, demanding to know if Puccio was involved in trying to have them killed. Valerie tries to get Tubbs to leave, but suddenly Puccio emerges and tries to kill Tubbs. Tubbs manages to overpower and kill Puccio. Valeria throws Tubbs out of her apartment and tells him to ask Crockett's friend Penelope if he wants answers.
Crockett and Tubbs confront Penelope, who reveals that she gathers information for drug dealers and other shady business people, but she never planned on developing feelings for a mark like she has with Crockett. Crockett tells Penelope that she should lay low unless she wants to end up dead like Jimmy.
Crockett and Tubbs load up and head to the meet with the Revillas. Esteban and Miguel Revilla (Guillermo Diaz) do not greet them kindly. Suddenly, Valerie shows up and begins firing at the Revillas. Crockett and Tubbs join in the gunfight. They manage to kill everyone except Esteban, who escapes to a helicopter with Crockett in pursuit. Crockett empties his gun into the helicopter as it is taking off. The helicopter loses control, crashes and explodes.
The next morning, Valerie and Tubbs have sex, for what they both believe will probably be the last time. Tubbs tells her it's unfortunate that their respective jobs will probably never allow them to really see things out with their relationship. Plot: Fading country pop star Cassidy Davies (Julianne Hough) is meeting with manager Tommy Lowe (Jeremy Piven) at a beachfront bar. Lowe assures her that he has all the promoters in his back pocket and will pay stations to get her music on the air so that she can get back on the Billboard charts. Suddenly a Racketeering strike force moves in and arrests Lowe. As they lead him away, Cassidy gloats that she set him up to get back at him for all the musicians he's screwed over.
At OCB, Lt. Martin Castillo (Andy Garcia) informs Sonny Crockett (Josh Holloway) that he is taking him off of an illegal arms investigation so he can guard Cassidy until she testifies against Lowe since he should have the easiest time fitting in in the music crowd. Crockett is annoyed, but agrees to the assignment even though he feels it's all part of a publicity stunt on Cassidy's part.
Crockett heads over to Cassidy's penthouse where he first meets Cassidy's assistant Angie and then by Cassidy herself. After taking a look at him, Cassidy immediately begins vocally doubting Crockett's ability to keep her safe. Crockett says he's fought in a war and been a cop for a long time, so protecting a spoiled pop princess will be a cake walk. Meanwhile, Lowe tries to get the record executives on the phone, but they refuse his calls.
Crockett takes Cassidy to a recording studio, where they continue butting heads. Meanwhile, Lowe meets with his lawyer Ralph Fisher (Patrick Fischler), who advises him to convince Cassidy not to testify in court. Lowe asks how that would work, and Fisher offers to have some people make Cassidy disappear, but it won't be cheap. Lowe hands over an envelope of cash and tells Fisher to have them make it look like an accident.
Cassidy gives Crockett a hard time about his fancy clothes, car and boat, but Crockett informs her that it is all part of his undercover role. He's just a regular working man, not some whiny celebrity. Cassidy takes offense to the comment and says she isn't like the image the magazine and TV project of her. Crockett is paying the bill when the men Lowe hired arrive and start shooting up the place. Crockett hoots one of them and pulls Caitlin into his Ferrari, with the other two men in pursuit. Crockett has Cassidy hold the wheel, and he leans out the window and shoots at the men in pursuit, killing the one in driver seat as the passenger bails from the car. Crockett then drives the car to the marina.
On Crockett's boat, Cassidy is shaken up, but she is unharmed. She tells him that she has to testify against Lowe. Crockett asks her if she's willing to risk her life to do so. Cassidy says she is. She and her band put their faith in Lowe to manage them, but he got greedy and began stealing money from them and slowly broke her band apart. Her drummer killed himself, her guitarist left to join a cult, and the bass player and former boyfriend sued Lowe, but wound up end of an apparent suicide shortly thereafter. She believe Lowe had him killed, but can't prove it, so testifying against Lowe is her only recourse. The two realize they were wrong about each other and begin kissing. Tubbs (Taye Diggs) and Castillo arrive at the marina and see Crockett and Cassidy kissing. Tubbs pulls Crockett aside and calls him out on his inappropriate actions. Crockett reminds Tubbs that Castillo told him not to let Cassidy out of him sight.
Crockett describes his lifestyle situation to Cassidy: the job, divorce, kid, all-night cases, etc. She is surprisingly not detered. Cassidy tells Crockett that she works all night sometimes too, and she likes kids. Lowe gets a text informing him that the hit failed. He then gets into his car and starts the engine. Lowe's car suddenly explodes. Tubbs calls Crockett and tells him that Lowe is dead, so the case is over. Cassidy tells Crockett that she doesn't want them to end just because the assignment does.

Plot: Lt. Martin Castillo (Andy Garcia) calls in to have Sonny Crockett (Josh Holloway) and Ricardo Tubbs (Taye Diggs) join him at a marina where they have found a floater. When they arrive, Castillo tells them that the body has been identified as Walter Avery, the owner of a tech company who opened up a new location in Lauderdale that was supposed to be a co-venture with a Japanese corporation. Crockett asks what that all has to do with Vice, and Castillo explains that Avery's associates allegedly have ties with the Yakuza, and organized crime is within the pervue of Vice. Police Commissioner Hank Wallace (Lance Reddick) and Homicide Sergeant Haskell (Steven Ogg) hold a press conference where they say they will find Avery's killer. They then meet with Castillo at the morgue, who tells them they have no leads yet. Wallace is concerned how this case will affect his campaign for Mayor of Miami. All they have so far is that Avery was drowned in fresh water then dumped in the salt water bay. Haskell wants to write the case off as Avery getting drunk and falling into the water, but Wallace tells Castillo that he has 48 hours to figure things out before he turns it over to Haskell and the homicide department.
Castillo, Crockett, Tubbs, Switek (Brad William Henke) and Zito (Troy Garity) start reviewing information on Tanaka, a Japanese businessman who recently did business with Avery. Castillo tells the team that Tanaka has been linked to the Yakuza on several occasions, and tells Crockett and Tubbs to check out Avery's offce for any ties to Tanaka. When Crockett and Tubbs arrive they find the place ransacked and the security guard dead. They spot on a security monitor that two men are exiting through the rear door. Crockett and Tubbs give chase and a gunfight breaks out on the street outside. Suddenly a car speeds by, shooting one thug down and chasing the other off. Crockett surveys the scene and finds a business card for Kenji Fujitsu, private investigator. Tubbs wonders what a Japanese PI is doing in Miami. Later at the scene, Castillo confirms the Yakuza's involvement after viewing the dead body since it has their tattoo on his body.
Tanaka (George Takei) informs Agawa (James Saito) that Fujitsu has made his men look foolish once again and they need to show some force to save face. The surviving thug atones for humiliating the Yakuza by cutting off his own pinky finger.
Crockett and Tubbs head to OCB where Castillo has gathered information on Fujitsu and explains that Fujitsu used to be a highly decorated police officer in Tokyo until he attacked a businessman named Agawa without provocation. He's been a ghost ever since until now. With the clock ticking, Castillo tells everyone to focus the investigation on the Yakuza rather than try to track down Fujitsu. Castillo tells the team that his government contacts have informed him that the Yakuza run a series of brothels in Miami and assigns Gina Calabrese (Katrina Law) and Trudy Joplin (Megalyn Echikunwoke) to try to infiltrate one as an employee. Commissioner Wallace arrives at OCB and tells Castillo that his 48 hours are up. Castillo requests two more days, claiming his hunch on the case could lead to a lot of publicity for the department and Wallace's mayoral run. Wallace gives Castillo 48 more hours, but no more.
Gina and Trudy manage to get in to see Agawa at a club about an ad for jobs while Fujitsu watches from his car and Tubbs and Crockett watch from Crockett's Ferrari. Agawa gives Trudy and Gina an audition and has them dance on stage. While they dance Haskell meets with Agawa for a pay-off, but recognizes Gina and Trudy and informs Agawa. Yakuza thugs then tie up Gina and Trudy in the club. Agawa then has them tie up Haskell as well. Switek and Zito are outside in their surveillance van with Castillo when Commissioner Wallace shows up as well so that he can get in the bust for the publicity. Castillo has Switek turn on the feed from Trudy's microphone and they all overhear Haskell trying to negotiate with Agawa. Crockett and Tubbs decide to enter the club. They witness Fujitsu (Hiro Kanagawa) killing some of Agawa's Yakuza thugs. Crockett and Tubbs untie Gina and Trudy, and Fujitsu escapes.
Late that night, Castillo is visited at his home by Fujitsu. Castillo asks Fujitsu what side he's on. Fujitsu explains that he is on the side of justice. He says that Agawa used to be a friend of his before he joined up with the Yakuza. Together they hatch a plan. Castillo goes to see Tanaka and Agawa and brings them Fujitsu. Tanaka wants Fujitsu killed and have it set up like he was the one who murdered Avery. Agawa confronts Fujitsu and asks if he wants to end this. Fujitsu nods. Agawa then gets out two samurai swords, giving one to Fujitsu. Crockett and Tubbs enter the building to find Fujitsu and Agawa in a full-blown samurai sword fight and are baffled at what to do. Fujitsu gains the upperhand and is about to land the killing blow on Agawa when Castillo tells him to stop. Castillo tells him that he can't let him murder Agawa and places Agawa under arrest. During the fight, Tanaka went upstairs. Castillo, Fujitsu, Crockett and Tubbs all go upstairs to find him. They find Tanaka's dead body with a sword through his abdomen. Fujitsu tells them that Tanaka has committed seppuku in an attempt to restore his honor.

Plot:Tommy Lowe's body has finally been identified as Cassidy Davies (Julianne Hough) is beginning her latest tour. She flies out to Los Angeles for a photoshoot and brings Crockett (Josh Holloway) along with her. After they arrive, Cassidy gives some interviews at a pres conference. After ward she sees the heads of the record label Wiggins (Paul Blackthorne) and Freeman (David Ramsey). They tell her they are pleased with the new album. Crockett is overwhelmed by the crowds, but finally finds a few minutes alone with Cassidy before they head off to a record label party. At the party, Cassidy is busy catching up with old industry friends. Crockett drinks at the bar by himself. Wiggins and Freeman are talking to Jonah Lee (Michael Weston), the founder of the celebrity gossip website CHQ. Lee is hitting them up for information on Cassidy's new mystery man. That night, Crockett tells Cassidy that he has to go back to Miami for work in the morning. She tells him she understands, but should be back in Miami soon to kick off the tour.
Back at OCB, Tubbs (Taye Diggs) and shows Crockett that he and Cassidy made the home page of CHQ. Lt. Castillo (Andy Garcia) asks Crockett if he heard anything about Tommy Lowe from Cassidy, as the D.A. has informed him that Lowe was going to roll over on the heads of the label Wiggins and Freemont before he was murdered. Castillo suggests that Crockett work the case undercover since he is well-positioned to do so already. Crockett tells Tubbs that he is concerned that Cassidy will be angry that he is getting involved in her business. Tubbs asks why he didn't decline the case, but Crockett says that he feels he has the inside track on the case and also has a duty to protect Cassidy. Lee starts to dig up dirt on "Sonny Burnett" and arrives in Miami.
Crockett flies back to Los Angeles and heads to Cassidy's hotel room where she shows him a new CHQ article talking about Sonny Burnett's reputation around Miami as a drug trafficker. She tells him that the label is worried that it could affect sales for the new album. She tells him that the label wants him far away from the tour. Crockett tells her that Fremont and Wiggins are under investigation for the murder of Tommy Lowe, and Cassidy can't believe it, saying Lowe owed money to several drug dealers in Florida. Crockett says he's leading the investigation, and Cassidy is even more surprised and tells him she refuses to get involved in his work. She doesn't want to hear anything about Freemont and Wiggins unless Crockett has real concrete evidence.
Fremont and Wiggins are meeting with the label's accountants who tell them that the company only has enough cash in the reserves to stay in business for 60 days. Freemont and Wiggins contact Sonny Burnett to ask for his help in moving 100 keys of drugs from Nassau to Miami on short notice. Crockett agrees to the deal, believing he can catch them in the bust and put them behind bars. When Crockett leaves the meeting, Freemont and Wiggins discuss their real plan: for the deal to go bad with Burnett and Cassidy caught in the crossfire. The label would then get back the money they've set aside from Cassidy's tour so they can stay afloat longer.
Crockett sees Cassidy's assistant Angela (Jessica De Gouw), who tells him that Cassidy is having a hard time with Crockett not around and thinks the two need to spend more time together before the tour starts. Crockett spends time with Cassidy at the hotel pool where he expresses his concern about Fremont and Wiggins, telling her that they want Burnett to bring in drugs for them to move. Cassidy is upset that he's getting involved in her career, but agrees to come to Miami with him when he goes back for the deal so that they can spend some time together.
Wiggins sets up the meet at a pier that night. Crockett tags along with Cassidy for a photoshoot. While Crockett waits outside, he sees Fremont and Wiggins drive by. He rushes inside the studio where the photographer is about to kill Cassidy. He shoots them and then gets into his Ferrari to chase after Freemont and Wiggins. In the chase, their car flips and catches fire. Crockett manages to pull Wiggins out of the car before it explodes, killing Freemont.

Plot: Cassidy Davies (Julianne Hough) is out on tour when she calls Crockett (Josh Holloway) that her manager added a couple more dates in the Miami area coming up so they'll be able to spend some time together. In fact, she's on her way to Florida now from New York. Crockett says that's great news, but he's at a crime scene and has to get back to work. Crockett goes back over to Tubbs as they take a look at some dead bodies from a home invasion. The victims suffered 12 gauge shotgun blasts followed by a pistol shot in the head to finish them off. Meanwhile, Johnny (Michael Rosenbaum) and his girlfriend Julia (AnnaLynne McCord) discuss the leader of their gang's plans for a big job. Johnny however quickly loses his temper with Julia for not paying attention to him and slaps her. Lt. Castillo (Andy Garcia) arrives at the crime scene and tells Crockett and Tubbs that he's going to hand the case off to Homicide, but Crockett stops him. Crockett says that he recognizes the M.O. of the crime. He says he put away someone years ago with the same M.O. named Frank Hackman. He admits that it is just a hunch, but he asks Castillo for a little time to work on the case. Castillo gives Crockett two days before he hands it over to Homicide.
Frank Hackman (Richard Brake) is talking to his wife, telling her how much they made on the home invasion. His wife, Helen (Christina Cox), says they should leave town. She is worried that Crockett will come after them again. Hackman tells his wife not to worry since Crockett works Vice now, and therefore will have nothing to do with a case that would fall under Robbery or Homicide's jurisdiction. Tubbs and Switek (Brad William Henke) go see Izzy Lamont (Mike Epps), who is now running a pawn shop. Lamont tells them that Johnny may have fenced some stolen merchandise through him. Lamont says he's seen the guy before and he sometimes comes in with a woman named Julia. Tubbs thanks Lamont for paying attention, but tells him to quit buying stolen stuff.
Crockett tells Tubbs that he fears he is starting to lose his faith in the justice system, and hopes that it isn't Hackman behind these crimes. Castillo calls Crockett and Tubbs, saying that a woman has come forward with information on the home invasion. They meet with Julia on the beach. She is covered in bruises. She gives up Johnny, saying that she's done with him hurting her. She gives them the address of their warehouse hideout. Crockett and Tubbs head to the warehouse, but Johnny spots them and warns Hackman and Helen, who are in the back of the warehouse. As Hackman and Helen make an escape, Johnny holds the cops off with gunfire. Helen is hit in the crossfire. Hackman and Johnny escape, while Tubbs calls for an ambulance for Helen. Later that night, Helen dies in surgery.
In the morning, Crockett goes to Castillo for a request out of OCB/Vice. Crockett does not disclose why or where he wants to transfer to. Castillo gives Crockett the request form, but says he needs him to stay at OCB until his transfer is approved. Before Crockett leaves his office, Castillo informs him that it wasn't one of Crockett's bullets that killed Helen, it was one of Hackman's. Johnny viciously beats Julia for selling him out to the cops. Lamont tells Switek and Trudy (Megalyn Echikunwoke) that he heard Hackman is planning a hit for that night, but he couldn't find out where. Crockett goes to see Cassidy in her dressing room before a concert. Meanwhile, Tubbs goes to see a badly beaten Julia in the hospital. She tells Tubbs that the hit is going down at Club 123 in South Beach, where Cassidy is performing. Tubbs rushes out of the hospital and repeatedly tries calling Crockett, but he isn't answering his phone. Hackman kills the stage light operator and sets up a rifle in the rafters. Cassidy begins her concert with Crockett watching from the side of the stage. Hackman aims his rifle at Crockett, but then, believing Crockett killed his wife, switches his aim to Cassidy and pulls the trigger. Crockett rushes to his wife and pulls her off the stage and begins trying CPR to no avail. Cassidy dies in Crockett's arms.
Crockett is drowning his sorrows in whiskey on his boat. Tubbs stops by to check on his partner, but just as he arrives, Crockett gets a phone call from the medical examiner. Crockett is in no condition to talk on the phone and hands it to Tubbs. The medical examiner informs Tubbs that Cassidy was seven weeks pregnant. When Tubbs tells Crockett this, Crockett flies into a drunken rage and yelling at Tubbs to get off his boat and just let him be miserable. Back at OCB, Gina (Katrina Law) and Zito (Troy Garity) inform the team that Johnny fled to Chicago, but is supposedly returning to Miami that night. Meanwhile, Hackman checks into a hotel under the name "Crockett". Castillo returns Crockett's transfer request, unprocessed, saying he thought that with everything that's happened Crockett may want to review it first. Crockett thanks Castillo before crumpling up the paper and throwing it away.
Crockett and Tubbs observe Johnny returning to Julia's house and arrest him on the spot. Johnny quickly gives up Hackman, telling the cops that he is on Caicos Island, which apparently has shaky extradition agreements with the United States. Castillo wants Crockett to get some rest and gives him some extra time off. Crockett goes to Caicos Island, where he finds Hackman's hotel room. Crockett aims his gun at Hackman, but Hackman says Crockett can't shoot an unarmed man. Crockett proves Hackman wrong by pulling the trigger. As Crockett walks away, a gun can be seen in the dead Hackman's hand.
