Plot: Miranda Jones (Lesley Manville) gathers everyone around following their meal at the restaurant. She thanks everyone for their support after her tough time and she raises a glass of champagne to new beginnings. The celebration is short-lived, as she says it’s time for them to get back to do their job, the agency still needs to make money. Wilson (Brian d’Arcy James) ask them if they have anyone coming in and Bob (Rainn Wilson) says he has a client coming over. Wilson points out to Andrea (Caroline Dhavernas) that she should start bringing in clients soon, as Bob is bringing every client as of late. Bob simply says that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to keep this agency alive. Andrea simply smiles and goes back to work.
Miranda invites Andrea and Wilson in her office while Bob is working on papers for his next client. Wilson talks to them about what they need to do for Bob’s next meeting. He is meeting with someone who is up to play a man who imagines people, in a new movie called Spark of Madness. Andrea says she wants to see if he’s the right man for the job, so she wants everyone to play along. Miranda doesn’t understand, but Andrea says she’ll find out soon enough.
Steve Carell (Steve Carell) enters the Jones Agency offices and shakes Bob’s hands. He stares at him for a while and he asks him if they met each other before. Bob doesn’t think so, because it’s the first meeting between the two of them. He previously was Mr. Jones’ client, but Steve’s folder got on Bob’s desk after he passed away. Steve says it’s not what he had in mind, he feels like they’ve seen each other somewhere else. Bob assures him they haven’t and Steve is persuaded he worked with Bob before, but can’t remember on which production. Bob tells him to forget about it and he invites him in the conference room so they can discuss his contract for the upcoming film.
As they enter the conference room, Miranda is seen exiting the room and begs their pardon. She tells Steve she is a huge fan is his and thanks her for the compliment. She sneaks up behind him and she asks him, whispering in his ear, if it’s true he’s a virgin. Steve is taken back by the remark and he says he isn’t. She says that’s a shame and she asks him if he’s sure, because she read an article called “Steve Carell: The Forty-Year Old Virgin”. He says that was just a movie and she says that’s a shame because he looks lovely. He thanks her for the compliment.
They finally settle down in the conference room where Bob talks about Steve’s career for a bit. He mentions his previous films, like Welcome to Marwen, Last Flag Flying and the Despicable Me franchise. Bob notes they are all masterpieces and wonderful films. Steve stops him right there and he says Bob is acting like a suck-up and that reminds him of someone, but he can’t put the finger on it. He worked with someone who looked like him on television, but he can’t remember who. Bob says a man like him shouldn’t worry about television, he’s a movie star! Steve says he can try to dodge the subject all he wants but he’s going to find out soon enough.
Andrea, who is in Miranda’s office alongside Miranda, whispers through the phone in the conference room that Miranda activated that she thinks Anchorman 2 sucked. Steve looks around and asks Bob to repeat what he just said, but he insists that he didn’t say anything. Wilson adds that Dinner of Schmucks was a disgrace compared to the original. Steve doesn’t catch on the act and is now genuinely upset. He tells Bob that he liked him better when he was a suck-up. Steve says he’s hungry and he asks if he has some food to eat. Bob offers him his lunch since they went to the restaurant and Steve is now eating Bob’s beat salad. Steve points out the salad is very good and Bob says he made it himself. Steve asks him one more time if they have seen each other before, but says he doesn’t think so.
Miranda comes back in the conference room and asks Steve if he can give her a minion, as she thinks they are so cute. Steve uses his Gru voice to tell her he can’t give her a minion and Miranda is now sad. She says he has so many of them he could give some to her and Steve doesn’t want to. Bob interrupts Miranda : “Question. When will you stop bothering my client?” Miranda says he could just ask his boss and Bob gets up to get Miranda, but he can’t, because Miranda is heckling Steve. Wilson enters the room and stands next to Steve. He suggests he should sign the contract and get out of here before it’s too late, speaking in a ghostly manner. Steve now understands what they’re up to and they ask them they are trying to make him crazy. Wilson is now on the defensive and he points to Miranda saying “That’s what she said”. Steve is mad because Wilson stole his catchphrase and he says it again, this time looking at Bob and his mustard-yellow shirt. He says it again looking at Bob and thinks for a second. He asks him if he played an extra on The Office and he says that could have happened somehow. Steve is satisfied and leaves the offices, saying he’ll come back to sign the contract at another time, they are just trying to make him crazy before shooting starts right now.
Bob sits at his desk turning in his chair, still mad at his colleagues for running his meeting. Andrea says it’s not too bad, he’ll sign the contract anyway. They hear someone knocking on the door and Wilson answers. Det. Debra Dexter (Jennifer Carpenter) enters and arrests Bob Hollis for the murder of Mark. Bob swears he didn’t do it, but she says they have proof that say otherwise. They all watch in disbelief as Bob leaves the offices, handcuffed. Wilson is wondering why Debra Dexter rings a bell in his mind, wasn’t there a show where a main character looked just like the detective ? Miranda and Andrea disagree, they haven’t seen her before, or heard about Debra Dexter.

Lesley Manville .... Miranda Jones
Caroline Dhavernas .... Andrea Martel
Rainn Wilson .... Robert "Bob" Hollis
Brian d'Arcy James .... Wilson Johnson
Jennifer Carpenter .... Det. Debra Dexter
Chris Colfer .... Desmond
Mel Gibson .... Himself
Plot: Miranda (Lesley Manville), Andrea (Caroline Dhavernas) and Wilson (Brian d’Arcy James) are all shocked to find out that Bob was arrested for murder. Andrea and Miranda both leave to follow Bob. Wilson notes that they can since Bob had another client coming in after Steve Carell and they need someone here to talk to him. Andrea says that Wilson could take to him, she needs to sort this out. Wilson says it can’t happen, under any circumstances he doesn’t want to meet Bob’s client. Miranda says it could only be time for him to take on extra responsibilities and they leave. Wilson chases them in the parking lot. He refuses to meet with Bob’s client again. Miranda asks him why he feels this way and he says he’s a Jew and a Democrat, he doesn’t want to meet Mel Gibson alone.
Det. Debra Dexter (Jennifer Carpenter) is interrogating Bob (Rainn Wilson) about Mark’s murder. He claims he has nothing to do with it. Ste starts explaining why she has good reasons to believe he killed him, but he interrupts her again. He repeats her name over and over again, it rings a bell, but he can’t quite put the finger why her names means something to her. She starts to swear to establish her authority and he interrupts her again, thinking he has an answer, but he can’t remember where he saw her. She says she gets that a lot and restarts her explanations. They discovered he owed Mark a substantial amount of money and he never paid him back entirely. They found a recording of Bob saying his life would be easier if Mark was dead. They found a shirt stained with Mark’s blood in his trash can and the initials B.H. were written in blood next to his corpse. Bob tries to joke, saying a murderer would never write his initials next to his victim, but Debra is having none of it. She says things look bad for him and he should consider cooperating, because right now, he’s acting like a douche and she doesn’t like douches.
Wilson called Desmond (Chris Colfer) to replace him while Bob is gone, but really, he just wanted some company if things degenerate between him and Mel Gibson. Speaking of Gibson, he’s knocking on the door and Wilson lets him in. Wilson stumbles on his words and is clumsy overall. Mel asks him where Bob is, because he doesn’t like Wilson. Wilson asks if it’s because he’s a Jew and Mel doesn’t understand why he would say that. He regretted what he said and he’s willing to leave that behind. Desmond joins them in the conference room and he offers Mel a refreshment, but all they have has alcohol, so Wilson politely declines on his behalf. Mel Gibson is mad at Wilson because he can make his own decision. He thinks Wilson came in this meeting in bad faith and he’s having none of it, he wants to see Bob now, but Wilson reminds him that Bob is unavailable at the moment. Mel can’t believe they chose him to replace Bob, he looks out of place and incompetent, he likes the other kid better, speaking of Desmond. Wilson begs him to give him a second chance and Mel agrees, reluctantly.
He presents Mel with his proposed role of Robert Finlay, crooked and corrupt leader in How to Survive in Hell. The only problem is that Robert is wheelchair-bound. Mel asks Wilson if he thinks he’s some kind of weakling to play a wheelchair bound character. He was William Wallace, he was Mad Max, he isn’t no wheelchair bound weakling. He says he’s disappointed in them and he strongly disagrees with the casting. He gets up and raises his hands and Wilson is sure he’s about to hit him, so he runs away. Mel was simply stretching and yawning and he can’t see Wilson anymore. On his way out, he tells Desmond that the meeting was weird, but he and Bob go a long way, so he’s going to think about it. He says he doesn’t want to see Wilson again, he’s useless and a weirdo. Desmond takes good note of his complaint and laughs as he sees Wilson hiding under his desk.
Miranda and Andrea are finally able to talk to Bob through a glass with a phone. Miranda asks Andrea to talk to him, she doesn’t want to touch the phone, it’s probably dirty and she doesn’t know how to use a phone with a chord. Andrea picks it up and waits for Bob to arrive, saying Miranda is doofus, even a toddler knows how to answer the phone. When Bob arrives, Miranda gets emotional and is on the verge of crying. She gets closer to the phone to ask Andrea to tell Bob that prison isn’t doing him any good, he looks dirty. He should shave, it would look better. Andrea says that Bob has always looked like that and Miranda says she never noticed. He has such a unique charisma that she didn’t notice how dirty and unclean he looks. Andrea decides to not tell him that and instead asks him how he’s doing. He says he has seen better days and his legal case doesn’t look too good. He gave a lot of money to Mark, so he can’t pay a lawyer. He isn’t going to lie, he used to act tough and confident, but he’s scarred right now. Andrea asks him if he really did it and Bob takes it personally. He asks how she could ask that question to him, his friends of many years. He slams the phone down and leaves. Miranda tries to give him fashion and beauty advice through the glass, but it’s too late now.

Plot: Desmond (Chris Colfer) calls Andrea (Caroline Dhavernas) to inform her on the Wilson situation. Speaking of Wilson (Brian d’Arcy James), he is still crouched under his desk, afraid of Mel Gibson. Desmond asks Andrea about Bob, but she doesn’t give him good news. When Desmond announces it to Wilson, it brings him down even more. Andrea is in her car with Miranda (Lesley Manville) and they are discussing a way to help Bob with his legal problem. Miranda says it wasn’t nice when she asked Bob if really did it. Sure, he looks unclean and desperate, but as Andrea pointed out, he always looks like that, but that doesn’t make him a killer. Although she agrees it could be a interest-killer in a woman, and that’s why he’s still single after all those years. Andrea is mad at Miranda for saying this when Bob is at a bad place and she says they should help him, they always had his back and now is not different. Andrea remembers him saying he doesn’t have a lawyer, so they should start looking for one. Miranda says she had this covered. Andrea pulls over in the agency’s parking lot.
When they enter the agency, they are met by Desmond, who tells them what happened with Wilson. Miranda heads straight to her office to take care of this lawyer thing. Andrea crouches down at Wilson’s level and asks him what’s wrong. He says he screwed the meeting and he pissed off Mel Gibson and he’s so ashamed that he won’t come out from under his desk. She asks him if he really is afraid of Mel Gibson, because that’s what Desmond said earlier. He says he might be a little. Andrea grabs him by the arm and makes him stand up, but he hits his head on the way up. Wilson claims he can’t do anything right and Andrea says there are worst things in the world and besides, Mel Gibson is hard to manage. It is quite late now and they decide to head home for the night and get a good night sleep. They say goodbye to Miranda and Andrea asks her how the lawyer thing is going and she says it’s going fine. She didn’t do anything for Bob, though, she’s doing a quiz on the Internet to find out which kind of apple she is.
A couple of minutes later, the Jones’ offices are in the dark except from the light coming from Miranda’s office. She completed her quiz and found out she is a pink lady. She pats herself on the back, “at least it has lady in it”, she says. She suddenly remembers she wants to do her daily good action and call a lawyer for Bob. She takes a huge binder from her desk and flips the pages. She takes a deep breath, but she can’t do it. She heads to the bathroom and gives herself a little pep talk. She boosts her confidence a little and runs back in her office and dials a number. On the other end is Martin Freeman (Martin Freeman). She presents herself and she says he blew her mind away that time they had a mock trial and she wants to know if he would perhaps use his talents to help them once again. Their friend is accused of murder and he could really use his help. Martin sighs and reminds her once again that he’s not a real lawyer and he finds it odd and quite surprising that she isn’t able to tell the difference, given her job. He hangs up and she says he was rude. She says she’s now out of ideas. She grabs a pocket book from her purse and flips the pages to the current date. She writes that she tried to get Bob a lawyer and puts a little star next to it. She pats herself in the back and she says she’s heading into the right direction.
The next day, Andrea arrives at the same time as Wilson at the agency and she asks him if he feels better today. He says it depends on if he will be a spectacular failure again, but she says Bob didn’t have anything on schedule today, so he should be alright. They are surprised to see Miranda in the office so early. She says she has some bad news for them and they both think something happened to Bob. She says she hasn’t been able to secure the services of the lawyer she was thinking about. Martin Freeman was rude to her. Andrea can’t believe it, she reminds her once again that he is not a real lawyer. She suddenly remembers something and she grabs Miranda and leave. They’re going to find Bob a lawyer.
Wilson is alone in the office when he hears someone knocking. He opens the door to Kristen Bell (Kristen Bell) and she says she is here to meet with Andrea. Wilson says she had an emergency and she had to leave, so she could come back later. Kristen asks him if he’s an agent and Wilson laughs it off. He says they like to think he is, but he’s not really good at his job. She asks him if he could just show her the contract she was supposed to sign and she’ll just sign it and leave. He says he could do that and he heads over to Andrea’s desk and grabs the contract. She signs on the dotted line and she thanks him before leaving. As soon as she’s out, Kristen calls Andrea and she says she did it. Andrea thanks her for the favor and hangs up. Wilson, jumps in the air in his office, he finally did it, he really believes he’s got what it takes to be an agent, a real moral victory.
Miranda and Andrea are at the courthouse and meet with a lawyer (John Glover). Andrea asks if he remembers them and he says he does. She was the crazy woman who represented herself and beat him and made him a laughingstock amongst his colleagues. Andrea says it’s a weird way to put it, but it is who they are. She asks him if he wants to get his reputation back and he says he would be interested. She says they have a murder case that is a slam dunk for a win and he says he’s usually a prosecutor and he’ll see what he can do. Miranda thanks him, but he says he only told them he would think about it.
Wilson, still thrilled that he did his first act as an agent without screwing everything, turns around and he’s surprised to see an old foe, Melissa Hao (Michelle Yeoh). He asks her what a skank like her is doing here and she says he better be nice with her, because she might know how to get their friend out of jail.

Plot: Bob Hollis (Rainn Wilson) is chained up when Wilson (Brian d’Arcy James) comes to see him at the local penitentiary. They talk about how they are doing and Wilson says he’s all excited about his new job as an agent and he was able to close a deal with a client. He was so happy, Bob wouldn’t believe it. Bob finds it mean that Wilson came all the way over here to tell him how much his life his better than his and how much he loves the job he stole from him. Bob asks for the guard to bring him back to his cell and Wilson pleads for him to stay. Once Bob is gone, Wilson asks the security guard f he can give his friendship necklace he made out of candies to Bob and he can’t, but it sure looks delicious. Wilson gets even more sad when the guard takes a bite out the bracelet and he leaves. In his car, he decides to eat the bracelet too, surprised to learn that it is indeed really good and sweet.
Back inside the penitentiary, Bob goes back to his cell that he shares with his new friend Jack (B.J. Novak). Once he enters the cell and it locks immediately behind him, Jack reminds Bob that every time he sees him enter the cell, he reminds him of someone, but he doesn’t know who. Bob says he has a recognizable face, he gets that a lot, but he hopes it doesn’t remind him of one of victims, because he would hate it if Jack tried to kill him during his sleep. Jack says he’s a changed man and he’s not capable of violence anymore. Bob says it’s new, because the last time they had free time, he tried to choke someone by dropping a dumbbell on his throat and it sent him to the hospital. As we see a flashback, Bob was very uncomfortable during the whole thing, not used to this level of violence. They are interrupted by a guard who asks Jack to pack his things because he’s moving to another cell. Bob complains, saying they were almost done with their friendship bracelet and the guard confiscates them.
As Bob throws on the wall, his new cellmate comes in. His name is Jules (Julia Garner). She’s silent and doesn’t talk a lot. When asked questions, she grunts instead of answering. Bob asks her if she knows it’s a men’s prison and Jules answers back that she’s a man and if continues to say otherwise, Bob won’t have any teeth tomorrow night. He thinks her threat is cliché and she threaten him once again, by whispering something in his ear. Bob leaves him, or her alone for the night and he goes to sleep. During the night, he can’t sleep, as he keeps on looking at Jules, in case he/she tries to choke him in his sleep or something.
The following day, Bob, tired and looking horrible, goes to the cafeteria and sits next to Jack, who wants all the details about his new cellmate. They stare at Jules while eating and she gives them the finger. Bob says he’s scared of him/her, because she’s a convicted killer and he can’t sleep right at night, fearing that she might attack him, she seems so hostile. He asks Jack if he can scare her, he’s a murderer and a cannibal after all. Jack is reluctant, but Bob pushes him forward so he really needs to confront Jules. He backs up and he confides in Bob that he isn’t a killer, nor a cannibal, he just committed tax frauds and he made this this alter-ego so people would fear him. Bob says he’s a good actor, he really believed him. He’s an agent and he could do wonders for his career once he gets out. He gives him a card with his contact information. Jack asks him where the card comes from and Bob tells him he pleads the fifth about this question and he changes the subject. Jack throws the card away out of disgust and tells Bob that he’s a killer, he shouldn’t be afraid of her. He says he’s not a killer, because he didn’t kill anyone, but Jack reminds him that he’s in jail because they think he murdered someone. Before he has the chance to answer, a guard, wearing the remaining bits of Wilson’s friendship bracelet gets Bob to come with him, because he needs to go somewhere. Bob comments that Wilson has now found a new best friend, pointing at the friendship bracelet.
Right after Bob leaves the cafeteria, Jules is approached by a group of men as he/she is eating alone. They start bothering her and harassing her. She grabs her fork and threatens the men with it. When they insist, she stabs her fork into a man’s arm and he runs away crying. Jack would’ve liked Bob to see that and he definitely will tell him.
Bob enters a room where he meets with his unbothered and grumpy lawyer (John Glover) who complains that he had to drive through traffic for a long time to come here, so it better be important. Bob guesses that he is and then his lawyer complains that he had to pay parking here. It’s definitely going on Bob’s bill. Bob reminds him that he’s broke, so it will be hard to pay him and that’s why he didn’t want a lawyer. The lawyer says he didn’t want a murderer as a client, but here he is. They are interrupted by Detective Debra Dexter (Jennifer Carpenter) who comes in, complaining that she couldn’t even get a free parking around the building. Her and the lawyer bond over the lack of free parking and Bob has to remind them he’s here. Debra looks at the lawyer and she says she has some bad news for him. New evidence has surfaced in the case and Bob is free to go. Bob is ecstatic and he wants to go and hug Debra, but he remembers he’s chained to the table and he hurts himself. The lawyer is disappointed, because the case won’t go to trial and he will not have the opportunity to win a legal case in court. He asks Bob if he would consider going forward with the trial and then winning and Bob disagrees, to the lawyer’s disappointment. A guard comes in and unchains Bob, who hugs Debra. She immediately asks him to back off and Bob obliges.
Moments later, Bob is seen going back to his cell to gather his belongings. He tells Jules the good news, she/he seems unbothered. Bob packs his stuff silently and right when he’s about to leave, Jules grabs him by the wrist. She says she has something to confess. She turns around and removes a wig, revealing herself to be actress Julia Garner. She says she’s here to research for a role and she asks how she’s doing. Bob says she’s doing fine, aside from the fact that Jules is clearly a woman in disguise, not telling her he was afraid of Jules. She asks the guard if she can leave too, because this isn’t going to work and he denies her, saying she asked to be here for a month. As Bob leaves, Julia is seen panicking without her wig on, for all inmates to see, before putting the wig back on and acting tough. On his way out, Bob passes in front of Jack’s cell and throws him another business card, telling him it came from his pocket this time, asking him to give him a call once he gets out.
Bob leaves the penitentiary and is sad to see that nobody is there for him. He sees a familiar face in the parking lot, his lawyer, arguing about the parking fees. He asks him if they can commute together back to Los Angeles and he reluctantly agrees.

Brian d'Arcy James .... Wilson Johnson
Chris Colfer .... Desmond
Michelle Yeoh .... Melissa Hao
John Glover .... Lawyer
William Forsythe .... Boris Shelkovina

Plot: Bob Hollis (Rainn Wilson) is at home, looking at himself in the bathroom mirror. He smiles and leaves his bathroom and sighs when he sees the letter pile that accumulated on his doorstep while he was incarcerated and then pardoned. The news are on in the background and when can see that mobster Boris Shelkovina (William Forsythe) has been arrested for murder and will have a trial soon. He knots his tie and leaves his apartment, happy to be free.
Back at the office, Andrea (Caroline Dhavernas) and Wilson (Brian d’Arcy James) run around, making sure everything is ready. Desmond is hanging a poster congratulating Bob on his pardon. Miranda (Lesley Manville) is sitting at her desk, staring at her old nemesis, Melissa Hao (Michelle Yeoh) who is the center of attention after she was able to bring forward evidence exonerating Bob. She brags about it to Bob’s lawyer (John Glover) who couldn’t more bored. When they see Bob’s car pulling in the parking lot, everyone hides as Andrea and Wilson hold party poppers. When Bob enters, he turns the lights on and everyone emerges from their hiding place. The party poppers go off and a distinct scream is heard coming from the bathroom. Bob is surprised by this show of affection and everyone quickly forgets about the scream coming from the bathroom.
As everybody welcomes back Bob, Melissa wants everyone’s attention so she can show the video that allowed all of this to happen. Miranda doesn’t want to let Melissa get all the spotlight and she insists she’s the one who has to introduce the employee because she’s the most important person here. She starts arguing with Melissa, while Bob talks with Andrea and Wilson about how much money he owes now. Miranda overhears the conversation and she decides to one-up Melissa by saying that she’ll pay for Bob’s debts and legal fees. Everyone thanks her for her kindness and as she goes back in her office to note her good action of the day and giving herself a gold star sticker, Melissa reminds everyone, once again, that she allowed this to happen. She argues with Miranda once again and upon hearing the argument, Paul Dano (Paul Dano), all dressed up as Pee-wee Herman comes out of the bathroom, laughing in the distinctive Pee-wee laugh. Everyone stops what they’re doing and just look at Paul, not knowing what to do. Enjoying the discomfort, he starts laughing again.
Standing in the corner, Bob’s lawyer is drinking his sorrows that he still won’t have the legal victory he wanted, so he’ll just have to retire known as the guy who got beat by a diva who had no law knowledge. Miranda brags that she learned for the best, Puddn’head Wilson himself. He looks at her confused, before claiming he hates surprise parties and he leaves. Things went back to normal after the encounter with Pee-wee and now nobody knows where he went. Bob looks around for him, because he loves Pee-wee Herman, but he can’t find him anywhere, but he can hear him giggling. Bob suddenly hears Miranda screaming from her office, because Paul hid in her office and surprised her. She starts to hit him with her handbag and is about to pepper spray him when Bob intervenes. He asks Paul who invited him over and he says he doesn’t know and struts away while Bob tries to calm down Miranda.
Melissa uses the confusion to finally show the video she’s been talking about all day and everyone gathers around to watch. The footage shows Melissa loudly eating a hamburger while she doesn’t know the camera is on. Embarrassed, she moves it forward until we can see Boris Shelkovina entering the Mark’s house moments before he was killed, all the while Melissa is loudly singing along to Take Me Home, Country Road, by John Denver. People are disappointed to see how little excitement there was to the footage compared to how she hyped it up, well, everyone except Pee-wee Herman who laughs his ass off in the corner. Melissa gets mad at Pee-wee for laughing at her and she starts chasing him around the office, as he skips and struts around and soon everyone joins in the chase, either chasing Melissa or Pee-Wee. When Melissa gets near the front door, Miranda uses the opportunity to push Melissa out of the office and lock the door. She laughs at her from inside, saying it’s a good thing the bitch is finally out. When Melissa tries to enter the office by the windows, Andrea, Bob and Wilson stop chasing Paul Dano and help Miranda lock the windows.
They all sit down around the conference room table, out of breath and containing themselves, trying not to laugh, but they can’t help but giggle. Bob thanks them for the day, it was nice to just laugh and forget about the dark days for once. He thinks his life can go back to normal now and he thanks them for what they did for him and they say it was perfectly normal to help a friend in need. Miranda says he can’t go back to his normal life just yet. All her legal victories got her thinking that he could sue the government for wrongful imprisonment and he would probably win if he hires her. Bob laughs it off and he says he’ll have to think about it. Andrea excuses herself for a moment, saying she has to use the bathroom.
When she gets in the bathroom, she starts screaming, asking the perv to get out of the women’s bathroom. Wilson takes his cellphone and dials an unknown number. He tells the other person to enter and she says it’s locked and Wilson pleads her to enter. The glass door that serves as the front door breaks and Detective Debra Dexter (Jennifer Carpenter), Bob’s arresting officer, comes in and arrests Paul Dano, dressed as Pee-Wee Herman, for public indecency. Wilson laughs at his elaborate, set-up prank, but no one else does. Wilson notices no one is laughing, except Pee-wee and asks everyone if that was too far and Andrea screams to him that yes, that was too far.

Plot: When Wilson (Brian d’Arcy James) arrives at work that day, he first sees the workers replacing the glass window because of his plan gone wrong, but that’s not the reason why he’s sweating profusely. He looks at his desk and gulps. Despite Bob’s return to work, Desmond (Chris Colfer) is still sitting at his desk and well, doing his job. Miranda (Lesley Manville) is already there, putting lipstick on in her office. He walks next to Desmond and puts his lunchbox on his desk. Desmond looks at him with a funny look on his face, asking him why he is sweating so much. Wilson lets an awkward grunt go and heads for the bathroom. He asks himself if he’s fired and he says it can’t happen, he was so good at his job. But then, he was no really good as an agent. This is driving him crazy. He slaps himself in the face and washes his face with ice cold water to regain his composure. He walks with confidence and enters Miranda’s office, who’s somehow still putting on lipstick. She says it’s a good thing he’s here, she wanted to ask him a question, since Desmond keeps saying yes to everything she asks because he doesn’t want to lose his job? Does her lipstick suit her well? Wilson says it does and Miranda thanks him for his input. She says it’s alright for him to leave now, but Wilson stays. He breathes heavily and is finally able to ask her if he can be an agent from now on. Miranda turns around in her chair and spins back to face him once more in dramatic fashion. She says he’ll have to pass a test first. Wilson says he always hated tests, they make him a nervous mess and Miranda says it’s just to see if he’s up to the task.
Wilson sits anxiously at his new desk, eating the cap of his pencil when he Andrea (Caroline Dhavernas) and Bob (Rainn Wilson) arrive. They ask him what’s going on and he keeps on chewing his pen. Desmond says Miranda gave him a test that he needs to pass if he wants to become a full-time agent and not go back to do his boring desk job. Andrea asks Desmond if he likes his job and he says he has a complicated relationship with it. Wilson broke his pen and he has ink all over his mouth. He heads to the bathroom to clean himself up. Andrea and Bob head straight to Miranda’s office, where they surprise her looking at pictures of a shirtless Daniel Craig. She quickly closes the tab and hides her discomfort by pushing her purse of her desk. Both Bob and Andrea are surprised and amused to see the content of Miranda’s enormous purse. Once they got everything off the floor, they ask themselves if it really was a good idea. Miranda says he’ll get over it soon. They ask themselves if they should give him another client and Miranda says the rules were set, but it’s all fun and games, he’ll have the job anyway.
Wilson doesn’t think it’s all fun and games, as he has no idea it’s all a set up to get back at him for his prank gone too far. He gets out of the bathroom, all ink is gone and sits back at his desk. He listens to relaxation music on his phone to try to calm himself down. He walks in Miranda’s office an he tells everyone he’s ready for his test.
Andrea drops a file on his desk. He needs to pitch a role to someone known as Madame X. Wilson says he has been able to get a woman to sign a contract before and it went really well, so he doesn’t see how it’s going to be any different and it calms him a little. Andrea looks at Bob, worried. Wilson looks at the role details, Madame X is supposed to play a doctor in a sports movie. She’s American and the movie is about soccer. That’s going to be hard to sell, he says, but he’s confident in his ability to make her sign the deal. The calls the number and Katherine Heigl (Katherine Heigl) answers. Wilson pitches her the idea, saying the film is about football and she lashes out at him, saying she doesn’t want to play a doctor again, just because she played a doctor television for six years. She says she accepts to come and see him as a professional courtesy, because she liked the old Tom Jones a lot, but only because of that. Wilson hangs up and is happy to say he got her to come to a meeting ad he gives Andrea and Bob two thumbs up.
Katherine Heigl arrives the Jones Agency and she’s pissed off to learn that the old boss, Tom Jones passed away. She claims she had no idea. They sit her in the conference room and they give a pitch of water. She complains because Tom used to greet her with champagne. They didn’t even give her a seltzer, just plain water, like they live in the third world. Andrea leaves the conference room and starts to wonder if they gave him an impossible task and it’s going to ruin him forever. Bob gives him a pep talk, he wants to make sure he does his best in there. Wilson is all pumped up. He enters the conference room with a newfound confidence. He asks Katherine if she considered the offer and she says she always wanted to do a movie about football and Wilson is worried to tell her it’s in a movie about soccer, so he doesn’t. Wilson says she makes a good doctor, she was great in Grey’s Anatomy and she rudely thanks him, saying it’s what everyone tells her, but nobody offers her a job anymore. Wilson says it’s the point, she’s good at playing doctors and well, he offers her a job. She says it could be a good idea to sign, she needs money anyway. She points at her hair and nails and she says it isn’t cheap. Wilson says he believes her and he gives her a pen to sign the contract. She signs on the dotted line and says she’s leaving and thanks him for the role. She says if the movie fails, or if it gets bad press, he’s fired. Wilson has a hard time containing his joy and he’s really happy when she leaves.
Moments later, Wilson is still celebrating at his desk when Andrea says he made a classic mistake, but Bob disagrees, he says it’s one of the oldest trick in the book. Wilson asks what he did wrong, or right, and they say he kept saying the movie was about football, so she will think it’s about American Football, but Standing Back is a movie about football yes, but most people call this sport soccer. She’s probably going to be pissed about it. Desmond interrupts them and transfers a call to Wilson. She screams at him on the other side of the line, asking him why she just got cast in a film about soccer? She says he’s fired and she hangs up. Wilson says he still passed the test, right?

Lesley Manville .... Miranda Jones
Caroline Dhavernas .... Andrea Martel
Rainn Wilson .... Robert "Bob" Hollis
Brian d'Arcy James .... Wilson Johnson
Chris Colfer .... Desmond
John Glover .... Lawyer
John Hawkes .... Himself
Plot: Desmond (Chris Colfer) is forced to do overtime tonight. The phone is constantly ringing, and it doesn’t look like he will out of here anytime soon. Everyone calls for the same thing. They all want to speak with Bob, saying he’s a former murderer and he shouldn’t be allowed to be working in the industry anymore. Desmond reminds them that Bob didn’t murder anybody, and he was wrongfully accused, to no avail. Desmond lets the phone go straight to voicemail and he calls Miranda (Lesley Manville) to ask her if he can leave. Miranda, who still lives with Desmond, says it’s alright, but they should do something about that, or else Bob might never recover. When Desmond gets back home, he asks if he can sleep in his bed tonight and she says he can’t. Desmond argues that he’s been working all day and Miranda says he only answered the phone. He asks her what she has done today that would justify her sleeping in the bed. We see a flashback sequence of Miranda not doing anything productive today. She budges and lets him sleep on his bed. This event forces Miranda to start looking for a house, but she realises that because of her generosity towards the agency and Bob, she’s broke and doesn’t have money for a house. She tells herself she must do something about it.
Bob (Rainn Wilson) is the first one to arrive that day at the office, as he has an early meeting with a long time client. He gets annoyed when the phone doesn’t stop ringing and sends it straight to voicemail, but it’s full. He welcomes his client, John Hawkes (John Hawkes) and they go in the conference room for the meeting. The place is still quiet, other than the constant phone ring in the background. Bob tries to abstract it, but he keeps hearing it. It doesn’t seem to bother John, who keeps a serious look and tone. John says he doesn’t know how to tell him this kindly, but he doesn’t think he can work with him again. Bob asks him what’s the issue and John says he heard all the rumors about him and it doesn’t goes along his values. Bob reminds him that didn’t kill anyone and John says it has never been proved and he hasn’t been cleared. Bob says that’s nonsense, his hands aren’t dirty, he’s not a violent man. He excuses himself for an instant and he goes to Desmond’s desk and violently unplugs the phone and throws it across the room and the phone breaks a window and lands in the parking lot. He goes to John, who points out that he just destroyed a phone out of rage and he doesn’t want to work with violent people, it’s against his values. He tries to leave office, but he bumps into Miranda, Desmond, Wilson (Brian d’Arcy James) and Andrea (Caroline Dhavernas) and at Bob’s request, they keep him inside. Bob asks Andrea and Wilson to keep him company while he talks to Miranda, but Wilson says he won’t be able to, he just got hit in the head by a phone and he’s feeling dizzy.
Bob tells Miranda that he will take a few days off and follow up on her advice and sue the government for his wrongful arrest and attempt to clear his name. Miranda is happy that he came to her for her legal services and Bob says that’s not the case, he’s only here to ask for a few days off. She says the agency stayed afloat without him during his absence, they should manage for a few days. She asks him if it still counts for a good action and Bob says it sure does and puts the sticker in Miranda’s notebook himself.
While Bob leaves, Andrea asks John if he likes his new role in 7 Days and he says he absolutely hates it and he’s thinking about dropping out of the movie. Andrea laughs awkwardly and reminds him that he’s contractually obligated to honor the contract. He says the movie glamorizes violence and is filled with hardcore scene, nudity and horrible violence. Andrea reminds him that the violence in the film is almost a character by itself and it helps further the character’s descent to madness, plus, it helps sell tickets. John disagrees with everything that he says, saying anyone who is in favor of violence like that shouldn’t be allowed to make movies. He then becomes all fed up about Hollywood’s glamorization of violence and how everything has to violent these days to be successful and he storms off. Andrea realises he makes some good points.
Wilson and Desmond are listening to the messages left in their voicemail and they realise that it’s always the same thing, like someone hired bots to flood their answering machine of the same thing. They ask Miranda, who is applying nail polish to her toenails if they can all delete them and do something else instead, but she refuses to, in case they have an important message. They ask if she can help them and she says she’s doing important work. They point out she’s literally painting her toenails in her office and she says she can’t have a meeting without having nail polish on her toes, or else, what will people think? That she’s poor? She can’t allowed that and Wilson says that no one will ever think she’s poor. She agrees and throws them out of her office.
Bob enters a dirty bar adjacent to a cheap motel and he sits at the bar, ordering two glasses of whiskey. He takes a look at his right and fakes being surprised to see his old lawyer (John Glover) there. He asks him how he was able to find him and he says his former colleagues told him where to find him. The lawyer asks Bob how is he going to ruin his life today and Bob says he’s here to do the opposite. He has a golden opportunity for him to finally have a big win. Bob whispers and says he wants to sue the government and the lawyer says he’s interested. Bob asks him his name, he never quite got it and he says his name is Sirius.

She helps him get out of the office by the bathroom’s window and she thanks him again before getting out of the bathroom and telling Miranda that she missed him. She says it’s impossible, she just heard him talking and she starts looking for him around the office. As she wanders around calling for her hero Daniel Craig, Andrea and Wilson realises the office is in ruins, water got everywhere. They’ll have to redo the carpets and it probably got into the walls. They call Bob to ask him how his meeting with the lawyer went and to tell him what happened at the office and he says everything went well. He’s sitting at a bar and he smiles, telling them they won’t have to worry about the office, he has them covered. He looks at a settlement in his hands and he hangs up. He clinks his glass with Sirius’ and they drink to celebrate a victory.
